It serves as the primary line of defense against our state's varied climate, from intense sun and heat to the crucial, albeit sometimes heavy, winter rains. When embarking on a significant roofing project—be it a complete re-roof, a complex repair, or a new installation—the selection of a professional and trustworthy roofing contractor is paramount. - Roof Inspections: Comprehensive evaluations to assess roof condition, identify potential vulnerabilities, and recommend necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Hot Mop Roofing Services: Application of hot asphalt layers beneath a bitumen cap sheet for enhanced roof protection and durability, particularly common in certain commercial or low-slope residential applications.
- Residential Roofing: Specializing in solutions for various home types, including single-family homes and complexes, utilizing materials appropriate for the California climate.

- Siding and Gutters: Many comprehensive roofing and construction companies also offer services for siding and gutters, which are integral to a property's exterior protection.
The provided customer reviews for Ortiz Roofing Contractor present a mixed, and in one case, highly concerning picture. It's crucial to address both perspectives to provide a balanced overview:
Positive Highlights (from one customer's experience):
- Affordable Pricing: One customer reported receiving a "very affordable price" for their roofing needs after a previous negative experience with another company.
- Excellent Quality in Workmanship: The end result of the roofing project was described as "fantastic!" with "excellent quality in workmanship."
- Timeliness and Punctuality: The crew consistently "arrived on time" and ensured everything was "done timely."
- Professional and Courteous Staff: Workers were described as "very courteous" throughout the project.
- Thorough Cleanup: The crew "cleaned up at the end of the work day," demonstrating attention to site tidiness.
- Problem-Solving and Collaboration: Sharon from Ortiz Roofing assessed previous poor work, identified remaining repairs, and found solutions that could integrate with existing work, showcasing adaptability and client-focused problem-solving.
- High Recommendation: This customer "HIGHLY recommend Ortiz Roofing for your roofing needs!"
Concerning Highlights (from another customer's experience):
- Poor Workmanship Leading to Severe Damage: A major concern is the reported ceiling collapse during heavy rain due to apparent poor workmanship, leading to significant interior damage and potentially hazardous airborne debris (insulation, plywood shards, tar paper, shingles) discovered in the air filter.
- Lack of Site Cleanup and Safety Hazards: The complex's residents experienced issues with trash left behind, blocked access, and debris (including nails) on stairs and roadways, indicating poor site management and creating safety hazards.
- Open Complaint with CA State License Board: The customer has an "open complaint against them with the CA state license board for poor workmanship," which is a serious indicator of unresolved issues and regulatory involvement.
- Disregard for Residents: Blocking residents without notice and leaving debris suggests a lack of consideration for the property's occupants.
This dichotomy in reviews underscores the importance for potential clients to conduct thorough research, look for consistent patterns, and directly address any concerning feedback with the contractor prior to engagement.

For residents and property owners in Highland, CA, and the surrounding communities within the Inland Empire, a local roofing contractor like Ortiz Roofing Contractor, situated at 28615 Arroyo Vista Dr, Highland, CA 92346, USA, offers the advantage of proximity and familiarity with regional conditions. Their local presence facilitates convenient access for consultations and project management, and ideally, a deeper understanding of the specific climatic challenges and building codes relevant to California properties. This localized expertise is crucial for ensuring that roofing projects are not only structurally sound but also comply with regional standards and withstand the local environment.
However, when considering Ortiz Roofing Contractor, it is imperative for potential clients to meticulously weigh the diverse feedback provided by previous customers. While one review highlights positive aspects such as affordability, quality workmanship, punctuality, and good cleanup, another raises serious concerns about alleged poor workmanship leading to significant property damage, inadequate site management, and the involvement of the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). For Californians, verifying a contractor's license status and complaint history with the CSLB (via cslb.ca.gov or 800-321-2752) is a critical step before making a hiring decision, especially when severe negative experiences are reported. Ensuring that a contractor is bonded and insured offers an additional layer of protection, though as one customer's experience showed, bond limits might not cover all damages.
Ultimately, while the convenience of a local contractor is appealing, the paramount consideration for any California homeowner must be the contractor's consistent track record of reliable, high-quality, and fully completed work, coupled with strong communication and accountability. Thorough vetting is essential to protect your significant investment and ensure peace of mind.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Best experience! After having to fire a different unscrupulous roofing company, we were fortunate enough to find Ortiz Roofing. Sharon came to assess what the old roofing company had done, pointed out items that still needed repaired, told us what she could continue working with that had already been done, and came in at a very affordable price for us to work with. After everything was done, the end result was fantastic! Ortiz Roofing made sure everything was done timely, and with excellent quality in workmanship. Every time they were at the house, they arrived on time, were very courteous & cleaned up at the end of the work day. I HIGHLY recommend Ortiz Roofing for your roofing needs!
Jan 25, 2025 · Terri HochnadelRoofing company did a whole re-roof on the complex. Workers left trash, blocked in residents without notice and left debris all over stairs on the roadway. I also got a nail in my tire from what was left in the road. That’s not the worst of it either! During the last heavy rain we had our ceiling cave in! And when I checked my air filter it was COVERED in insulation, plywood shards, tar paper and shingles! We were breathing this in for MONTHS 🤢I have an open complaint against them with the CA state license board for poor workmanship.
Sep 29, 2024 · Andres GarciaThey are the worst company. Not only did they not tarp my roof, and it rained in my condo, but it rained in my condo again when they were done. Th e workers blockedme in, and don't speak English, so I had to miss 2 days of work. They also had their lunch break on my property, left a mess, and slept on my property.
Apr 14, 2024 · Chanda Delle MonacheCannot say enough good things about everybody and everything associated with this company. From the first time I reached out to after the job was completed. There was constant communication end updates. The crew that showed up to do our roof were professional and had our roof done in about a day and a half and they cleaned everything up afterward. I will be recommending that as company to anyone who will listen.
