For residents and property owners across Massachusetts, a well-maintained and durable roof is an essential part of protecting their investment. The state's climate, with its heavy snowfall, ice, and frequent storms, demands a high-quality roofing system that can withstand the elements. When it comes time for a roof repair or a full replacement, selecting a contractor is a decision that requires careful consideration. Peter Ryan and Son Roofing Inc., based in Wakefield, MA, is a company that serves the local community with a range of exterior construction services. This article is designed to provide a factual and objective overview of the company, offering details on its location, services, and other relevant information to assist you in your search for a suitable contractor.
Choosing a contractor for a significant home improvement project is a process that should involve thorough research. This means looking beyond a company’s advertisements and examining its reputation, its service offerings, and its track record with past clients. Peter Ryan and Son Roofing Inc. has a local presence in Wakefield, positioning it to serve a wide range of communities in the North Shore and Greater Boston areas. The company's name suggests a focus on roofing, but publicly available information indicates they also handle other exterior projects, which can be a convenience for clients with multiple needs. This guide will provide an informative perspective on the company based on the available data.
A key part of making an informed decision is considering all forms of customer feedback. The reviews provided for Peter Ryan and Son Roofing Inc. are mixed, highlighting both positive initial experiences and significant concerns regarding follow-up service and honoring warranties. One review mentions a "good job" on a roof replacement but notes a subsequent failure to complete a follow-on project and a lack of communication. Another review from a long-term customer expresses initial satisfaction but profound disappointment when the company allegedly failed to respond to requests to fix a problem, even after six months, despite a stated 15-year warranty.
These contrasting accounts illustrate the importance of a comprehensive and balanced approach to research. While some customers may have a positive experience with the initial installation, others have reportedly faced challenges with a lack of communication and warranty support after the project's completion. For any potential client, this information is vital and should prompt further investigation. This includes checking multiple sources for reviews, asking for references from recent projects, and ensuring all warranty terms and service commitments are clearly outlined in a written contract. In the following sections, we will provide a structured overview of Peter Ryan and Son Roofing Inc. based on the provided information, covering their location, services, and key features derived from the available data.

One customer alleges that a follow-on project was left incomplete and that calls were not returned. Another customer claims they were left without a response for six months regarding shingles that had blown off their roof.
Warranty Concerns: A key highlight for any roofing company is its warranty, but one review explicitly raises a concern about the company's alleged failure to honor a 15-year warranty. This is a critical point for potential clients to investigate.

Peter Ryan and Son Roofing Inc. Reviews
Peter Ryan and Son replaced my roof earlier this year and did a good job with the exception of many nails on the ground. That's forgivable given the number that were removed. As a follow on project, I had them repair the edge of some rolled roofing. Paid in full yet the work is not done. Calls aren't returned. Likewise my $100 deposit for a vent is, well, sitting in their office or bank; no vent.
May 21, 2021 · Dan SampsonThis company replaced our roof 8 years ago and we had them come back last year to replace some remaining skylights. We had previously been happy with their service. Earlier this year a row of shingles blew off our roof and for six months I’ve repeatedly tried to get them to come out and fix the roof, but there is no response. So much for the 15 year warranty.
Oct 31, 2020 · Amy GrishmanPeter Ryan and Son Roofing removed and installed new roofing on two sides of a gable on my house. I asked the foreman and owner personally to come back and fix a gutter that was pressed-down by some weight and to clean the black marks on my siding. I have been promised, but they don't respond to my calls/emails. It appears that they don't intend to return to finish. After almost 4 weeks, I have given up and went on the roof and repaired the gutter and washed the siding myself.
Nov 28, 2020 · Heritage ImprovementsExcellent !!! We had our roof and siding done by Peter Ryan and Son, they were very professional fast and efficient!!I’ve recommended him to Friends and Family and all were more than satisfied!I’d recommend them to anyone looking for home improvement!
Jul 07, 2020 · Cheryl DeFranzoI called to make an appointment to get an estimate. I’ve called back a dozen of so times to cancel the appointment. No answer and the mailbox is full. Someone is going to travel from Wakefield to Gloucester and back because I wasn’t able to contact anyone or leave a message. I hope they have a fun ride
