SteelCon LLC Introduce
For homeowners across New Hampshire, our properties are a significant investment, and ensuring their protection from our state's varied and sometimes harsh weather is paramount. From heavy snow loads and ice in the winter to strong winds and driving rain during other seasons, our roofs and siding endure a lot. When it comes to significant exterior home projects, selecting the right contractor is a decision that can impact your home’s longevity, energy efficiency, and overall value for years to come. Unfortunately, not all experiences with contractors are positive, making it even more important for locals to be informed and cautious when making their choice. This article aims to provide a general guide on what New Hampshire residents should consider when seeking a roofing and siding contractor, emphasizing the importance of clear communication, fair practices, and quality workmanship, using a specific example to illustrate potential challenges and learning points.
When embarking on a roofing or siding project, it's essential to understand that you are entering into a professional relationship with your chosen contractor. The ideal contractor should not only be skilled in their craft but also demonstrate integrity, transparency, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Their role goes beyond merely installing materials; it involves clear communication, proper project management, and a willingness to address any concerns that may arise throughout the process. For New Hampshire residents, who often face unique climatic demands on their homes, a contractor's local experience and reputation are key factors to consider.
SteelCon LLC is listed with an address at 580 Lower Bay Rd, Sanbornton, NH 03269, USA. This location places them within the Lakes Region of New Hampshire, a common base for contractors serving much of the central and southern parts of the state. While a local address suggests familiarity with regional conditions and accessibility for projects in the surrounding towns and cities, it is crucial for homeowners to look beyond just the physical location. When considering any contractor, verifying their service area and ensuring they are genuinely local to your specific project site can contribute to more efficient scheduling and better understanding of local building nuances.
Based on public information and typical offerings of exterior contractors, a company like SteelCon LLC specializing in metal roofing and siding would generally offer a range of services designed to enhance a home's exterior. These typically include:
- Metal Roof Installation: This would involve the installation of new metal roofing systems, known for their durability, longevity, and resistance to harsh weather conditions common in New Hampshire.
- Siding Installation: Comprehensive siding services, including the installation of various siding materials such as vinyl, which is popular for its low maintenance and protective qualities.
- Roof Replacement: Full replacement of existing roofing systems, preparing the structure for new, durable materials.
- Siding Repair: Addressing issues with existing siding, such as panels that have detached or become damaged, to restore the home's protective envelope.
- Consultation and Material Selection: Guiding clients through the process of choosing the right materials and design options for their home's exterior.
- Project Management: Overseeing the entire project from initial assessment to completion, coordinating materials and labor.
When selecting a contractor for significant home exterior work, homeowners in New Hampshire should pay close attention to several key features and highlights. These points, derived from general best practices in the contracting industry and informed by diverse customer experiences, are crucial for a successful project:
- Clear and Comprehensive Quoting: A reliable contractor provides detailed quotes that clearly outline all costs, including materials and labor, and adheres to them. Any changes should be discussed and agreed upon in writing.
- Material Transparency: Homeowners should understand what materials they are being charged for and ensure that any unused materials are accounted for, especially if they were included in the original contract price.
- Warranty and Guarantees: Reputable contractors offer clear warranties on both materials and workmanship. The terms of these warranties, including duration and what they cover, should be explicitly stated and honored.
- Quality of Workmanship: The standard of installation is paramount. Siding should remain securely in place, and roofing should be installed without defects that lead to failures or require frequent repairs.
- Communication and Professionalism: Consistent, respectful, and clear communication throughout the project is vital. A contractor should be accessible, responsive to questions, and willing to address concerns without resistance. Professional conduct extends to interactions on and off the job site.
- Issue Resolution: Even with the best contractors, minor issues can arise. The true test of a reputable company is their willingness to promptly and amicably rectify problems without extra fuss or cost, especially within a warranty period.
- Respectful Conduct: Interactions with the contractor and their team should always be professional and respectful, both on the phone and in person.

SteelCon LLC Reviews
FIND ANOTHER OPTION FOR ROOF and SIDING INSTALLATION.Had Ron D. (SteelCon LLC owner) install brand new metal roof and siding on our home in the summer of 2020.Issues1. I picked up materials he hadn’t paid for thinking I would just take them off the bill but he felt they should be added cost. I was doing him a favor and I ended up paying an $500 to our contract. At the time I was frustrated but not worth a fight for $500.2. Siding kept popping off one spot under a window after completion. He claimed we must have pulled it off. What? Why would I create more headaches for myself. He came back to repair.3. When the job was complete he took the remaining 18 extra sheets of metal roofing with him. I expect there to be extra materials but we were charged for those. Why did he over purchase on our dime?4. Oct 2022 - more siding is falling off. After asking to be fixed for 3 weeks he sent someone out who filled the space with caulking to try to get it to stay in place. Didn’t work. Now he claims the ‘warranty’ is up and we need to pay for it to be repaired. Also claims someone pulled them down. Again - I don’t need more headaches in my life. No one pulled them down. It is poor workmanship.
Oct 17, 2022 · Kim ComeiroThe owner driving his flatbed truck can't use his directional. So when you don't let him out he will flip you off and swear at you. Then when you call him which takes forever be uase the writing on the front of his truck is backwards in your mirrors cause everyone who has lettered vehicles knows the front should be lettered backwards so it reads in your mirrors, but obviously he doesn't know or not smart enough. Then proceeds to call you a coward and make fun of your truck and brag about his F350 platinum in his driveway from all the profits he makes from his business. Then hangs up.Way to go ! !
