Whether you're dealing with a leaky roof, considering a complete replacement, or just need a routine inspection, you want a company that brings experience, expertise, and a commitment to quality. This article provides a detailed look at Better Roofing - A Villareal Company, a local option for those in the Grand Terrace area and surrounding communities.
Better Roofing, with its roots as a Villareal Company, has established itself as a presence in the local roofing industry. Their services are designed to address a wide array of roofing needs, from minor repairs to major installations, serving both residential and commercial properties. For local residents, having a contractor who is familiar with the specific weather and environmental conditions of California can be a significant advantage, as they are better equipped to recommend materials and solutions that will stand the test of time against the region’s climate.
The importance of a well-maintained roof cannot be overstated. It is your home's primary defense against the elements, including the occasional heavy rains and strong sun that are characteristic of the Southern California climate. An aging or damaged roof can lead to a host of problems, including water damage, mold growth, and increased energy costs. By providing a range of services, Better Roofing aims to be a one-stop solution for maintaining this crucial part of your property, ensuring its integrity and longevity. This overview will help you understand their offerings, location, and what to expect when you consider them for your next roofing project.

The office's proximity to major thoroughfares like the I-215 and I-10 freeways means that crews can be dispatched efficiently to various job sites across the region. This local presence is a key benefit, as it often means quicker response times for emergency repairs and more flexible scheduling for routine work.
For customers, the physical address serves as a central hub for the company's operations. While most of the work happens on-site at a customer's property, knowing the business has a dedicated location can provide a sense of stability and professionalism. The accessibility of their location helps streamline their service delivery, making them a practical choice for local residents seeking roofing solutions.

- Comprehensive Inspections: The company places an emphasis on thorough inspections to get to the root of a problem, rather than just treating the symptoms. This is crucial for providing a long-lasting solution and helps customers make informed decisions.
- Professionalism and Communication: A key highlight mentioned in customer reviews is the professionalism of the crews and the clear communication from staff, such as Gilbert Jr., who provides detailed quotes and explains the scope of work. This transparency is vital for building trust with clients.
- Quality Workmanship: Reviews often praise the quality of the work, noting that the crews pay attention to detail and go above and beyond the initial estimate to ensure the roof is in excellent condition for the rainy season.
- Flexibility and Reliability: The ability to adjust to a customer's schedule, such as fitting in a repair when another client cancels, shows a commitment to providing timely service. This kind of flexibility is highly valued by customers with urgent needs.
- Customer Focus: There is a clear emphasis on customer satisfaction, with crews performing extra tasks to ensure the customer is happy and the roof is secure. This customer-centric approach helps build a positive reputation within the local community.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Please never hire this company. This was the big mistake i made. They had me without roof for three month had water damage. And the owner never answer the phone. Please do more search on the company's. Left nail visible. I had to ask them over to removed them. I also got fine. From the environment air quality because they did not get the right permit. Family suffer all the winners. And they never came out the cover my house with a tart like i ask them in many occasion. They just didn't care at all. I had to field a complain with state contact bord. And hire and attorney so they could come out and complete the work. I was over estress over the situation I got sick my kids got sick because of them. Every body stary away from this company.
May 14, 2022 · Elsi CamposGilbert Jr. came out and did the quote. Had a good idea of where the leak was at and also found maintenence issues as well. Generated a reasonable 2 line item quote to separate the leak repair from the maintenence so we could save some money right now. They were able to come do the repair when another customer fell off the schedule and did a great job. Found the leak was not where they thought, but they found it, and then did the repair along with additional repairs related to the leak flow. Also did a couple of small extras to make sure we were good for the rainy season. After the first rain we looked really good! His two man crew did a great job!
Feb 02, 2025 · Allan BaconThe whole team at Villareal was very friendly, professional, communicative and paid attention to the details. They showed up when they said they would be there and took pride and ownership of their work. Gilbert Jr was excellent in explaining the details of the project and was very patient through the process. We really appreciate the above and beyond service that they provided and we would definitely recommend them for your roofing needs.
Nov 03, 2024 · Jeanne BishopI wish I could give a 5 star review as the owner and his scheduling staff are remarkable. They communicated very well and always answered questions we had. I was the hosting agent for a clients property. A new roof needed completed. Since we had such rainy weather this past winter the roofing company was behind on their scheduled jobs and they pushed us out several months. In order to not delay our closing and the new owners to move in, the funds were set aside in the escrow account and work was completed after the close of escrow.Villareal was very behind their projected time. Four months after the close date, the work was started but they had to leave and come back another day as another urgent matter came up. When work was finally completed the invoice was sent to the previous owner, who sent it to me. I sent this to the escrow company on Friday for payment and the check was sent out on Monday. My client (previous owner) received numerous calls and emails daily from the roofing company. I contacted the roofing company and asked them to work through me and that the check was in the mail as the contract stated. On Wednesday afternoon 5 days after the invoice was received my client again received communication from the roofing company’s office and is threatened that this late payment can affect her credit. I contact the escrow company again to ensure check was sent. They did. But to track it and keep the roofing company from harassing my client we stop payment on that check and overnight with tracking a new check to be delivered on Friday by 2pm.Friday at noon my client and a lady named Theresa from Villareal roofing call me. My client is beyond frustrated as Theresa is telling her that Monday morning a lien will be placed on her. I try to talk with Theresa on the phone to explain the tracking of the check and she immediately cuts me off and calls me a liar. She tells me the same thing about alien to which I correct her on a mechanics lien and how that works but she rudely and argumentatively tries to bully and intimidate me. That is not good customer service at all. She would not listen to me as I tried to explain that we had tracking on the check and it would be arriving at any moment. ( which it did 30 minutes after we hung up!) as promised.I am still so disappointed in this type of unprofessional behavior. I have never had someone speak to me with such disrespect and unwillingness to listen. I wanted to add this company to my list of vendors but unfortunately they will not be. Very disappointed with Theresa.
May 14, 2024 · Cindy SeddonNever ever ever deal with this company! How they have any good reviews is suspicious or the homeowners are clueless about roofing and costs. This person named Gilbert, the licensed roofer, was asked to inspect a roof and advise the cost of repairs with a 2 year roof cert. He asked for $500 upfront to show up and would apply this to the cost of repairs. His repair quote was for $3000 and gave a whole detailed explanation of what he would do. He NEVER provided a written estimate or written explanation of work required and asked for the total cost of this job UPFRONT! The contractor sent 2 guys who were on the roof for less than 90 minutes and left. When I inspected their work I nearly puked! See the picture. They simply laid non matching composition roofing right over the existing bad roof creating all kinds of lumps and for this 90 minute work, the cost was $3000? The roofer to this day has not provided me with a work order and now doesn't return calls. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the State Contractors Board and will be going after his Bond to get refunded and maybe reimbursed to remove his shoddy work and use a real professional to correct his job. He was also not legally allowed to collect the $3000 upfront according to the contractors board so hopefully I will get some relief from them. In the meantime, stay away from this company and Gilbert Villareal at all costs!! Terrible is an understatement!
