We recently bought a house with special gutters, and noticed some wood rot on the fascia board underneath. Not wanting to risk our warranty, I called a roofer to get an estimate for repairs. They responded quickly and sent Charles out to check it out. He inspected the whole roof to make sure there weren't any other issues, but only found the original problem. They had all the needed materials on hand, fixed the issue right away, and didn’t charge me anything. Truly outstanding service from a roofing company.

We were extremely satisfied with the service from Capital City Roofing - Santa Monica! After obtaining three estimates, we found theirs to be in the middle range. We opted for the top-quality roofing, which comes with a 50-year warranty and 10 years on labor. It was important for us to hire an established company with a large crew, rather than a solo roofer who might take a long time and possibly vanish. We are thrilled that we chose them! First off, we were really impressed with Charles, their estimator. He actually climbed up on our steep gambrel roof to assess it properly. Then he took photos with his tablet that were used to create an estimate through an app. This entire process showcased their professionalism. We received an email estimate from Charles just two days later, complete with the photos. Their crew arrived bright and early on a Friday morning, less than two weeks later. A team of workers jumped right in, removing the old shingles from the roof and the cedar shingles from the end of the house. They worked diligently until dark and managed to complete half of the new roof on the first day! I was amazed at how skilled these guys were! They wrapped up the entire project by Sunday morning, all before we returned from church! They consistently cleaned up the yard each day and were a pleasure to have around. They carefully tied up our large foundation bushes to protect them and give themselves space to work, covering them with tarps for extra protection. We are happy to give Capital City Roofing - Santa Monica our highest recommendation!

They were easy to communicate with and quickly addressed a few minor issues that came up. We opted for certainteed landmark pro shingles since we had issues with streaking from our previous ones. We also requested quad caulk for durability and upgraded to ultimate lifetime pipe flashing, which we felt was worth the investment. After getting quotes from four different companies, we truly believe we made the right choice. A couple of tips for future customers: twenty years ago, it was common to vent bathroom fans to the ridge vent, but with today’s longer-lasting shingles, it’s better to have them vented through the roof instead, which might add a little cost. If you have an attic fan, it’s usually best to remove it because the ridge vents won’t require that. Be prepared for some plywood sheets to need replacement (ours needed four), which will also be an additional cost as per the contract. Finding nails in the yard afterwards is just part of the process, no matter who installs your roof. I’ve talked to many friends who faced the same issue. They do lay tarps to catch nails and sweep with a magnet, but you might still find some. I even borrowed a metal detector and a magnet from friends and discovered several more nails myself—just part of the roofing experience.

Once again, Wayne was quick to respond and found that our gutter had come loose, which had damaged the roof shingles and led to some rotting in that area. This wasn’t his fault at all. Even though it was a small job, he took care of it swiftly and at a fair price. I truly appreciate how promptly he handled both situations. He really stands behind his work.
