For homeowners across Minnesota, particularly those in the picturesque Waconia area and its neighboring communities, a reliable and trustworthy roofing contractor is more than just a service provider—it’s a vital partner in maintaining the integrity and safety of their homes. Given Minnesota’s often extreme weather, from heavy winter snowfalls to intense summer storms and hailstones, the condition of your roof is paramount. It serves as your primary defense against the elements, protecting your family and your most valuable asset. This is where a local roofing company like Cheetah Roofing, based right here in Waconia, aims to step in to meet those crucial needs.
Cheetah Roofing understands the specific demands that Minnesota's climate places on residential roofs. As a local business, they are familiar with the common issues homeowners face in the region, offering services designed to address wear and tear, storm damage, and the need for new installations. Their goal is to provide essential roofing solutions that help protect homes throughout the Waconia area and beyond. When considering any significant home improvement like roofing, connecting with a local company that understands both the regional weather patterns and local building codes can be an important part of the process for homeowners.
Cheetah Roofing is conveniently located at 8095 Laketown Pkwy, Waconia, MN 55387, USA. This strategic position in Waconia makes them highly accessible to residents throughout Carver County and the wider Western Twin Cities metro area. Being a local contractor means they are geographically well-positioned to respond to the roofing needs of homeowners in communities such as Victoria, Chaska, Norwood Young America, and beyond.
Their local presence allows for quicker response times, particularly important when dealing with urgent roofing repairs or storm-related damage. It also facilitates more personalized service, as the team is familiar with the nuances of local architecture and common roofing issues specific to the Minnesota climate. For residents, this accessibility translates into shorter waiting times for inspections, estimates, and project commencements, ensuring that your roofing concerns can be addressed efficiently and effectively. Choosing a local business like Cheetah Roofing means supporting a company that is part of the community it serves.
Cheetah Roofing aims to provide a range of roofing services designed to address various needs for homeowners in the Minnesota region. While specific details about their full suite of services are based on general contractor offerings, their primary focus, as indicated by customer interactions, appears to involve residential roofing projects, including:
- Residential Roof Installation and Replacement: Offering services for installing new roofs or replacing existing ones on residential properties. This typically involves removing old materials and installing new shingles or other roofing systems.
- Roof Repair: Addressing common roofing issues such as leaks, damaged shingles, or other general wear and tear that can compromise the integrity of a roof.
- Storm Damage Repair: Assisting homeowners with repairs needed after severe weather events common in Minnesota, such as hail or high winds. This often involves working with insurance companies to facilitate the claims process.
- Guidance with Insurance Claims: As noted in customer feedback, Cheetah Roofing has experience in interacting and negotiating with insurance companies on behalf of homeowners for roofing damage claims.
- Free Consultations and Estimates: Providing initial assessments and quotes for potential roofing projects, allowing homeowners to understand the scope of work and associated costs.
While the above services are generally expected from a roofing contractor, it's important for potential customers to confirm the full scope of services directly with Cheetah Roofing to ensure they align with specific project requirements.
Cheetah Roofing, through the perspective of customer feedback, presents several aspects that might be considered features or highlights, alongside areas where potential customers should exercise diligence. Based on available reviews:
- Assistance with Insurance Claims: One customer specifically noted Jim's helpfulness in the "much interaction and negotiation with my insurance company" for a larger roofing job. This suggests a potential strength in navigating the often-complex process of insurance claims for storm damage or other covered events.
- Quality of Work on Larger Projects: For at least one significant roofing project, the work was described as "done well and timely," indicating a capacity for effective execution on substantial jobs. Jim was also described as a "very nice person" who did "a great job on the main roof work."
- Initial Responsiveness: Some feedback suggests that initial contact can be positive, with Jim being "very helpful" in the early stages of a project.
However, it is crucial for potential clients to be aware of other significant feedback, which highlights serious concerns regarding financial obligations and follow-through on commitments. This includes allegations of a substantial unpaid loan and repeated failures to communicate or fulfill promises related to both financial repayment and pursuing smaller subsequent jobs. These issues, particularly concerning consistency in follow-through and financial reliability, are important considerations for anyone contemplating engaging their services.
For individuals in the Waconia area and surrounding Minnesota communities who wish to inquire about roofing services, Cheetah Roofing can be reached using the following contact details:
- Address: 8095 Laketown Pkwy, Waconia, MN 55387, USA
- Phone: (952) 412-0094
- Mobile Phone: +1 952-412-0094
Prospective customers are encouraged to contact them directly to discuss their specific roofing needs, request estimates, and clarify any questions they may have about services or project timelines. It is always advisable to engage in thorough communication to ensure all expectations are clearly understood by both parties before committing to any work.
For homeowners in Waconia and the broader Minnesota region, choosing a local roofing contractor is often a preferred approach, and Cheetah Roofing, being based in Waconia, fits this criterion. Their local presence means they are familiar with the specific climate challenges that Minnesota roofs face, from severe winter weather to summer storms, and they are geographically positioned to provide service to the community they reside in. For a larger roofing project, one customer noted the work was "done well and timely" and that Jim was "very helpful" with insurance negotiations, which can be a significant benefit for homeowners navigating complex claims.
However, it is imperative for any local considering Cheetah Roofing to be fully aware of all available public information. While there are instances of positive outcomes on significant projects and helpful assistance with insurance processes, there are also very serious concerns raised in public reviews regarding financial reliability and consistent follow-through on commitments. These include allegations of substantial unpaid debts and repeated failures to communicate or honor promises for both financial repayment and undertaking smaller, subsequent jobs. These issues are critical for due diligence.
Ultimately, while a local contractor's proximity and understanding of regional conditions are appealing, potential clients must weigh the reported positives against the significant cautionary feedback regarding reliability and financial conduct. It is highly advisable for any local considering Cheetah Roofing to conduct thorough research, ask direct questions about these concerns, obtain clear written contracts, and consider seeking multiple bids to ensure a completely informed decision about their roofing project.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I lent $70,000 to Jim for working capital four years ago and he has yet to repay any of this loan. He has excuse after excuse for not repaying his debt. Do not trust him or give him any advances on your projects. Jim and Sara are not good people and should not be trusted. Update 1/29/2025 No returned call, email or payment. I will update every month until this debt is paid.2/27/2025 Jim has not returned my messages. Sara was invited to call me as well. They continue to avoid all calls and communication. Don't trust him with your money. He e-mailed me in March and said he will pay off his debt in April. We will see if he honors his commitment for the first time since the loan was made. Sara continues to avoid communication.5/5/2025 Jim sent an e-mail in March that he would make the payoff in April. Like every other promise to pay his debt, he did not. Would not return text or e-mail messages to explain his latest false promise. Well you guessed it, no communication at all in May. Stay tuned and don't say I didn't warn you!! June came and went. No returned texts, calls or letters. Sara also hasn't communicated once. These two are sly. Never believe a word they say. 6/25/2025. 7/23/2025 no return texts or e-mail messages. Ask either Jim or Sara about this. If they are truthful they will admit everything I said is true and if they deny any part of this that also proves everything I said is true.
Jul 23, 2025 · Kirk AveryI had two roofing jobs to do. Jim was very helpful with the larger job and which required much interaction and negotiation with my insurance company. The work was done well and timely. For the second roofing job that was required, on multiple occasions I reached him and he promised to get back to me, come to my home, pursue the additional work that needed to be done. He never followed through on his promises to attend to my needs. The only conclusion that I could surmise is that the job was too small or his company was not equipped to do the work. I was never informed of the reason that he did not follow through. Unfortunate, because Jim is a very nice person and did a great job on the main roof work.

Dec 30, 2021 · David CurranI'm writing this review on October 14, 2021. I used Cheetah Roofing to patch a hole in my roof last year and everything went great. Reasonable price, quick service, I had no complaints. It's only reasonable to give repeat business to a local company that you enjoy working with, right? Well, I wish I hadn't.On July 20, 2021, Logan (an employee of Cheetah Roofing) came to my property equipped with a drone. His assignment was to complete a roof inspection and digital siding measurement. Jim and I had discussed this estimate the week prior and both parties were in agreement that the inspection and measurement would cost me $80, and they would provide me with the measurements needed to order my own siding and Roofing materials, but also with estimates for both if I elected to have Cheetah Roofing complete the job instead of myself and some contractor friends over a couple weekends. On the day of the inspection Logan completed what he needed to do and was very professional. He said it would take anywhere from 3 days to a week to complete all the estimate details in the computer and he would send it over to me. He left after about an hour with my email in his phone and a signed check in his hand. The check was deposited or cashed on July 30th, 2021, and that was the last I heard from anyone at this company. I've left numerous messages for Jim and Logan separately, left text messages for Logan, and never heard a word back.Given the state of the world right now and the labor shortages, I understand when people are busy. I've given them plenty of time to respond and complete a simple inspection and measurement. The fact that it's taken nearly 3 months without so much as an apology is extremely disappointing. If you don't want to have to consider making a complaint to the licensing organizations and/or filing a small claims suit, I would not advise hiring Cheetah Roofing for your exterior projects on the largest asset most people will ever own.
