Erie Home Introduce
When it comes to the safety and security of a home in Illinois, the roof plays an undeniable and crucial role. The state's weather patterns—from sweltering summers to harsh, snowy winters and frequent severe storms—put a tremendous amount of stress on roofing systems. For homeowners in Champaign and the surrounding communities, choosing a roofing contractor isn't a decision to be taken lightly. It requires finding a company that offers reliable materials, professional installation, and a strong commitment to customer service. This is where Erie Home, a company with a local presence, aims to provide comprehensive solutions for those in need of new roofs or other home improvement projects.
Erie Home is a company that focuses on providing durable and visually appealing home solutions. While they operate on a national scale, their presence in Champaign, Illinois, positions them as a local option for residents seeking to protect their most significant investment. The company prides itself on using proprietary materials and offering detailed, transparent explanations of their products and processes. A key aspect of their business model is to offer peace of mind through what they describe as strong, storm-resistant materials and expert installation. They understand that for many, a roofing project is a significant financial and emotional undertaking, and they strive to make the process as smooth as possible.
The experience with any company can be unique to each customer, and Erie Home is no exception. Some clients have shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, praising the company for their responsiveness, the quality of their materials, and the final aesthetic of their beautiful new roof. These customers often highlight the speed and efficiency of the work crews and the thoroughness of the cleanup process. They feel a sense of security and peace of mind knowing their roof is protected from future storms. Conversely, other customer experiences have raised concerns, particularly around installation quality, communication, and project management. These varied accounts highlight the importance of thorough due diligence and clear communication throughout the entire process for any homeowner considering a large-scale home improvement project.
Erie Home's local office is conveniently located at 3611 N Staley Rd, Champaign, IL 61822. This central location in Champaign allows them to efficiently serve a broad area, including the city itself and the wider Central Illinois region. The accessibility of their physical address means that local customers can easily visit their office for consultations, to view material samples, or to discuss project details in person. A local office provides a physical point of contact, which can be reassuring for homeowners embarking on a major renovation project.
Having a local presence also enables the company to have a better understanding of the specific building codes, weather challenges, and architectural styles common in the Illinois region. This local knowledge is crucial for providing effective and compliant solutions. Being based in Champaign allows the management and installation teams to be more responsive to the needs of their clients, whether for an initial estimate or a follow-up visit. While a local office is a great asset, the quality of communication and project management ultimately depends on the individuals and processes in place. A local team can either be a source of seamless coordination or, in some cases, a source of frustration if communication channels are not consistently managed.

Erie Home emphasizes a few key features that they believe set them apart in the home improvement market. These highlights are a mix of their service promises and the qualities of their products.
- Proprietary Materials: One of the biggest selling points is the use of their own materials, which are often marketed as being stronger and more durable than standard options. This focus on material quality is intended to give homeowners confidence in the longevity and resilience of their new roof.
- Efficiency and Cleanliness: Many positive reviews mention the speed of the work crews and the thoroughness of their cleanup. This is a crucial factor for homeowners, as a clean job site minimizes disruption and ensures the property is left in a safe and tidy state, especially for families with children or pets.
- Strong Sales and Communication: When the communication is effective, customers appreciate the transparency and detailed information provided by sales representatives during the initial estimate phase. This clear communication helps customers feel empowered to make an informed decision about their investment.
- Peace of Mind: The company promotes its services as a way to gain peace of mind, knowing that your home is protected by strong materials and a reliable installation. This focus on security is a powerful motivator for homeowners living in a region prone to severe weather.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This company was just absolutely amazing! They worked with us so that we could fix our biggest problem with our roof, and keeping it within our tight budget! And our roof is just BEAUTIFUL! The workers were fast and efficient, and clean up was perfect! I was definitely worried about clean up due to having 3 dogs in my yard but you couldn’t even tell they were there. The man that came and gave us our estimate showed us all of their proprietary materials and how they worked, very transparent and detailed about how their materials worked and how the company worked. Anytime I had to speak with anyone on the phone they were so easy to talk to! I would recommend Erie Home to ANYBODY looking for a quality roof, with both beautiful curb appeal AND strong materials to ease your mind during storms. Thank you Erie Home and everybody I had contact with, you made our first roofing experience easy and gave us peace of mind knowing our roof is protected
May 15, 2025 · alyssa nealI want to preface this review by saying that an Erie Home Champaign installation manager actually wrote in our amended contract that I needed to delete online reviews if I wanted the company to fix their horrible roofing job and damage done to my home. Wonder how many other customers they’ve done that to? But the contract said nothing about future reviews so here we go, because customers have a right to share their experiences. Erie Home is well aware of the nightmare they have caused as we’ve had THREE ROOF INSTALLATIONS IN LESS THAN ONE YEAR!!Erie sales reps came to our door in Oct 2023, and told us to “BUY NOW” as their deal price was only good that day. Granted this was the first red flag that we deeply regret ignoring, but we needed a new roof and after hearing their sales pitch, looking up reviews, and getting a good payment plan, paying over $20k for a 2 story, 1200 sq ft home’s roof didn’t seem outrageous. After all, their website guaranteed expert installation and “white glove service” so we were willing to pay more. But once we signed a contract and paid them, the communication from the local installation manager was horrible!Roof 1 Nov 2023 - The first crew were amateurs who shattered a window, damaged our siding, smashed in part of our slat decking and patched with thin plywood, got roofing debris in our AC unit, didnt apply ice/water shield in needed areas, left trash and materials everywhere, and did the worst roof job I've ever seen. Ridges were sagging inward, we could see light through our attic in various areas, the edges look like a kindergartener cut them, and they didn't even bother to take off the sticky plastic tape from all of the shingles.Roof 2 Jan 2024 - After documenting everything, a regional rep agreed to send their best crew out for a complete redo. They replaced everything and put new roof decking on our home due to damage, which the local installation manager didn't even get a permit approved or schedule a inspection. The city inspector Patrick called me to say the Erie rep Jordan had screamed at him due to his own incompetence and was told to not contact them ever again. After hearing about our Erie nightmare to date, he was not going to allow roof #2 to stay on unless I said it was ok for him to review photos instead of ripping off roof #2 to inspect decking, which I did. Overall the second crew was much better, so I signed off on completion with the amended contract that stated Erie would still come fix the other damage in spring.Roof 3 Sept 2024 - Come June, no one had contacted us to repair anything and the warm weather had caused shingles to ripple. We contacted Erie once again to come out and fix our roof and other damage they caused 7 months prior. Once again, horrible communication from local install manager. We'd get told a date for someone to come out, and no one would show. Then in late August while we were on a trip, with no call or warning, someone rang our doorbell and said the manager told him to head over. He was pissed no one had actually contacted us to confirm. After we confirmed a date to meet, the new crew leader said we needed 2 giant, unsightly metal vent boxes placed on the lowest and most noticeable part of our home because the attic space above our porch must not have enough venting and its causing the rippling. We called BS as shingles were rippling in other areas that were well vented. But we hired a project manager to put in soffit venting instead of roof vents anyways, and he said the rippling was most likely due to a wrinkled underlayment, not venting and he was right. We paid him extra to stay and babysit crew #3 who only wanted to fix what was actively rippling. Luckily our project manager caught them trying to stop before the wrinkling ended in underlayment, and he told them to keep going. We did make them fix the broken j-channels around our windows and screens they slashed. But we were too scared to have them touch our siding and cause even more headaches. I'd give anything to go back in time and hire another roofing company
