Erie Roofing & Siding Introduce
Hello, Pennsylvania residents! For those of us living in the Erie region, we understand the importance of a secure and reliable roof. The unique weather challenges we face, from lake effect snow and ice to powerful thunderstorms, make a sturdy roof and siding a non-negotiable part of property ownership. Finding a trustworthy local contractor who not only understands these challenges but also operates with professionalism and integrity is crucial. This article is designed to provide you with a comprehensive and factual overview of Erie Roofing & Siding, a company that has a presence in the local Erie community. We will explore their location, the services they reportedly offer, and key features based on publicly available information and customer feedback. Our goal is to present a friendly and informative perspective to help you, as a local user, make an informed decision for your next home improvement project. It is always a good practice to conduct your own thorough research and speak with the company directly to ensure a perfect fit for your specific needs.
In the world of home services, especially with something as important as a roof, a contractor’s reputation is everything. A company’s business practices and customer service are just as important as the quality of the final product. Erie Roofing & Siding has a history of serving the Erie community, and based on the provided customer review, their business practices have been a cause for concern for at least one customer. The review details an experience involving a high-pressure sales pitch, an inflated quote, and an attempt to cash a check after being told to stop payment. This feedback raises serious questions about their sales tactics, pricing, and overall customer service. While the reviews are limited, this detailed account provides a valuable, albeit negative, insight into what a potential customer might experience. As locals, we rely on honest and transparent businesses, and this information is crucial for any Pennsylvanian considering a roofing contractor. This article will present this information to give you a clear, factual, and balanced view of the company's reported operations.
Erie Roofing & Siding is a locally based company, with its office located at 352 W 24th St, Erie, PA 16508, USA. This address places them directly in Erie, Pennsylvania, providing them with a strong physical presence in the community. As a local contractor, they are positioned to serve not only the immediate area but also the broader Erie County region. Being a part of the local community is often a significant advantage, as it means they are likely to be familiar with the specific building codes, weather patterns, and architectural styles that are common in our area. Their location on West 24th Street is a central point, making them accessible for clients who might need to visit their office or for their crews to be dispatched to various job sites. For Erie residents, working with a local company can often provide a sense of stability and accountability that is highly valued, though as the review suggests, it doesn’t always guarantee a positive experience.
The accessibility of a local contractor is a key benefit, as it can potentially lead to faster response times for urgent issues and simpler communication. Having a physical address in town means they are a visible part of the business community, which for many people builds trust. However, the customer review suggests that this accessibility did not translate into a positive or professional experience. The review highlights a lack of effective communication and what was perceived as a pushy, high-pressure sales tactic. This underscores an important lesson for any customer: while location is a good starting point, it is crucial to thoroughly vet a contractor's business practices. Despite the negative feedback, their physical presence in Erie does provide a point of contact for local residents, and a local contractor is often the first choice for many when looking for home improvement services. Their location provides them with a base of operations, and for customers who prioritize a local provider, this is a significant factor.
Based on their name, Erie Roofing & Siding reportedly offers a range of services related to both roofing and siding. While the review provided a negative account of their sales process, it does give some insight into the types of services they may offer, even if the methods are questioned. Their services reportedly include:
- Roofing Services: Their name indicates that roofing is a core part of their business. This would likely include a full range of services such as roof installations, replacements, and repairs. The review mentions a consultation that addressed the condition of a roof, even if the advice and subsequent quote were questionable.
- Siding Services: The company's name also includes "Siding," which means they likely offer services related to the installation, repair, and replacement of home siding. This allows them to be a one-stop-shop for exterior home improvement needs.
- Ventilation Fan Installation: The review specifically mentions a quote for "ventilation fans" to be installed on a roof. This indicates that they may offer services related to improving attic and roof ventilation, which is a key component of a healthy roofing system. The high cost quoted for these fans, however, was a point of contention for the customer.
- Consultation and Estimates: The review describes a visit from the company to "give a quote." This suggests they offer consultations to assess a roof and provide an estimate for the work. This is a standard practice in the industry, though the customer’s experience with the process was negative.
While the provided review focuses on a negative interaction, it still helps to outline the types of services they reportedly offer. This information is crucial for any potential customer to know, as it helps to clarify the scope of their work.
Based on the provided customer review, there are several features and highlights associated with Erie Roofing & Siding, though they are presented in a negative light:
- High-Pressure Sales Tactics: The review uses strong language, describing the company as "pushy" and having a "bogus sales pitch." This is a significant highlight, as it serves as a warning to potential customers about their sales approach.
- Overpriced Quotes: The customer review alleges that the company is "overpriced," citing a quote of $5,000 for ventilation fans that were later found to be much cheaper. This highlights a potential issue with their pricing structure and the value they offer.
- Questionable Business Practices: The review details a serious issue involving the company cashing a check after being explicitly told not to. This raises concerns about their business ethics and their respect for a customer's wishes.
- Lack of a Professional Process: The customer's frustration stems from a lack of a clear and professional process for scheduling and payment. The review notes that "No record of contracts or payments was kept by them which led to them asking for duplicate or inaccurate payments." This suggests a disorganized system that can lead to significant stress and problems for clients.
These highlights, while presented as negative, are a critical part of the public information available about this company and are essential for any potential customer to consider before engaging their services.
For those in the Erie region who would like to contact Erie Roofing & Siding, here is the public contact information:

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This place is pushy overpriced the steal. They came out while I wasn't home stated our roof was fine but needed ventilation fans to keep it for years to come. Gave a quote of $5000. My boyfriend for reason of trying to get rid of them and their bogus sales pitch gave them a check for half. After thinking about it he called them he called and told them he looked into the fans and they were 300-500 each. He told them he was not going to have it done and told them not to cash the check. They cashed it. We got to the bank and put a stop payment. Today the tried again. Off to the bank again. I will be calling BBB

Jan 10, 2024 · Cathy HankoIf you like your home then DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. First, during the installation they damaged both neighbors houses throwing singles off without regard and broke the siding on our house. They only came out because we refused to pay anything until all of the damage was repaired afterwards. During the installation to cops showed up at our house multiple times for them blocking the road illegally with dumpsters and cars (they showed up at night during bed time as well). Left tons of debris and plywood in the yard and never came back to clean it up. The roof leaked during the first rain and they claimed they would be out that Tuesday. Two weeks later the show up randomly and climb on the roof throwing caulking down on the lower roof getting it over everything. The quality of the roof looks/operates likes like a 12 year old put it on. Not to mention their price is the worst I've heard of since. STAY AWAY!

Aug 24, 2020 · Dennis GarageI would give no stars but I have to in order to leave a review. I called. They came to my house. About 2 months after I bought the house. They went up in the attic, they made sure I haven't personally checked the attic, which to be honest I didn't but I had someone working on some stuff in the attic and they haven't mentioned any leaks. So the Erie guys went in the attic and when they came back down they started to panic me. ' oh my God, your roof is leaking so bad. This project should be done right now, yesterday was already to late for this. Everything up there is bad and the leaks are terrible, the roof is improperly done. Change this right now'They gave us an estimate and of course we couldn't afford it right away so we set to go back to them if anything changes.Mention, we have the exact same roof in the garage and there was no leaking whatsoever so I started to think this. I was a bit worried that they might be right but after I went up in the attic myself and saw there was no leaks, definitely the roof is going to need changed but it's still can last a couple of years.I'm telling you. DO NOT CALL THIS PEOPLE!They are ruthless and they will do anything to sell they're project without carrying about anything else. I understand marketing I don't understand lies and panicking people with no reason.

Dec 09, 2019 · Judy HerbstThe worst workmanship I’ve ever seen. Not only did the take forever to complete our roof, the worksite was a total mess the whole time. To top it off they installed gutters that never worked properly from day one. Crooks!
