Interlock Industries Introduce
Choosing a roofing contractor in Oregon is a significant decision, particularly when considering a specialized product like a metal roof. For residents of Beaverton and the surrounding area, a company that has been a part of the local landscape for some time is Interlock Industries. They are known for providing exclusive metal roofing systems, marketed as a "Lifetime Roofing System" designed to be the last roof you ever install. This type of roofing is presented as a durable, energy-efficient solution to the Pacific Northwest's unique and demanding weather conditions, from heavy rain and wind to snow and ice.
Interlock Industries has built its business on the promise of quality, longevity, and superior customer service. They offer a range of metal roof profiles, including slate, cedar shingle, shake, and standing seam, all made from heavy-gauge aluminum or solid copper. Their roofs are protected with a proprietary Alunar Coating System, which is said to reduce cooling costs and maintain color stability. The company emphasizes that their systems are solar-compatible and backed by a lifetime limited warranty that is transferable to a second owner.
However, it's important for local homeowners to be well-informed and to consider all aspects of a company's performance, not just its marketing claims. Reviews from local customers paint a mixed picture of the company's service and product performance. One customer reported significant issues with their roof leaking during snowstorms, which they attributed to improper installation. They also raised concerns about the thickness of the aluminum and a perceived discrepancy between the company's claims and their own findings. Another customer in Oregon experienced a complete "avalanche" of snow and ice that slid off their new metal roof, damaging gutters and the porch, and they reported difficulty in getting a response from the company to repair the damage and install snow guards. These reviews suggest that while the product itself is exclusive, the installation and follow-up service may not always meet the high standards advertised.
Interlock Industries has a local office located at 8240 SW Nimbus Ave, Beaverton, OR 97008, USA. This location in the Portland metropolitan area allows them to be accessible to a wide range of customers throughout Beaverton, Portland, and the surrounding communities. A local office presence can be a benefit, as it suggests the company has a base of operations in the area, which should, in theory, allow for easier communication and service.
Despite the local office, some customer reviews mention a lack of responsiveness from the company, requiring numerous follow-up calls and emails to get a response. This highlights a potential gap between a company's physical presence and the accessibility of its customer service. For homeowners, especially those dealing with a new roof with an issue, a local presence is only valuable if it translates to timely and effective communication and service.
Interlock Industries specializes in a single, high-end product: metal roofing systems. They offer a variety of options within this category.
Exclusive Metal Roofing Systems: The core of their business is the installation of their proprietary aluminum and copper roofing systems, which come in five different profiles: Slate, Cedar Shingle, Shake, Mediterranean Tile, and Standing Seam.
Installation: The company states that it only uses certified Interlock crews for installation to maintain the integrity of their lifetime warranty. However, some customer feedback suggests that they may use contracted workers, so it is important for homeowners to verify who will be doing the work.
Warranty Service: Interlock Industries offers a lifetime limited warranty that can be transferred once. However, customer reviews raise concerns about the company's follow-through on warranty claims and repairs, with some reporting a difficult and unresponsive process.
Solar Compatibility: Their roofing systems are designed to be solar-compatible with the use of custom solar brackets, making it a potential option for homeowners interested in integrating solar panels with their new roof.
Interlock Industries promotes several features that are designed to appeal to homeowners looking for a high-value, long-term roofing solution.
Lifetime Limited Warranty: The company offers a comprehensive lifetime limited warranty that is transferable to a second homeowner, a significant selling point for those looking for peace of mind and added resale value.
Exclusive Product: Interlock's metal roofing systems are exclusive and not available as an off-the-shelf product. This can be seen as a highlight, as it positions their product as unique and premium.
Energy Efficiency: The Alunar Coating System is advertised as a "cool roof" that helps to reflect heat and reduce cooling costs, which is a desirable feature for homeowners looking for energy-efficient upgrades.
Durability and Longevity: The metal roofs are promoted as being highly durable, rated for high winds and impact resistance, and designed to last a lifetime, theoretically eliminating the need for future re-roofing projects.

For homeowners in the Oregon region considering a significant investment in a metal roofing system, it is crucial to conduct thorough research beyond the company's own marketing. Interlock Industries presents an exclusive and premium product designed for long-term durability, with a lifetime warranty and energy-efficient features that are attractive to local users.
However, the provided customer feedback from real Oregon residents highlights potential concerns regarding installation quality, product claims, and, most notably, customer service and warranty follow-up. While the product itself may offer the promised longevity, a homeowner's experience with the company and its support system is a vital component of the overall value. The reviews suggest that potential customers should proceed with caution, asking very specific questions about who will be doing the installation, what safeguards are in place for the unique challenges of a metal roof in a snowy climate, and what the exact process is for getting a warranty issue resolved. This approach will help local homeowners make a fully informed decision about whether Interlock Industries is the right choice for their needs, ensuring that a significant investment is protected by both the product and a reliable service team.

Interlock Industries Reviews
Had their metal roof installed in 2016. I fell for all their marketing lies. I was given a discount for leaving a good review initially. So take good reviews with a grain of salt before buying and check out other roofers who can work with aluminum metal roofs. Here are the lies I've discovered so far.1. Thick guage aluminum. It's not thick at all. Other metal roofing installers said this is home-depot thickness and showed me Sheffield aluminum metal roofing material, which is actually thick and sturdy.2. No leak roof: my roof has been leaking since I had it installed during windy snow storms. Snow is blown into the unenclosed ridge cap, lands on the mesh, melts and drips onto my drywall ceiling. Interlock's inspector told me it was my fault, explaining that my attic doesn't have enough birdblock ventilation causing snow to suck into my attic, and nothing they can do about it. I had to find their own installation detail and do my own inspection and found out they didn't install my roof according to their own business instructions, which called for a vented enclosure.3. It is a lie that customer service is good. Patrick Haley in their repair warranty department is a professional gaslighter. He didn't look at my documentation at first about the missing vented enclosure, the badly installed bath fan caps and improper underlayment starter detail. He never initiated follow up. I had to make all the calls. After calling him out on this during a three-way with their office person, he became rude defensive and all of a sudden my roof concerns were taken as offense to his '1200' hours of training. He hung up the phone on me. The repairs offered are inadequate and cheap. He was also extremely rude to other roofers who aren't Interlock questioning their product and install work. Please see his picture posted, it depicts the level of professionalism he has for customers and caring roofers trying to help fix their inept work.4. We only use interlock employees. They do not. They contract out like the rest of the sales based roofing installers. Those companies probably have a designated person who signed up with iInterlock and got their training, but there is no guarantee that their workers follow their own install instructions or have competencies..5. Warranty: They will lie to you to get out of having any costs associated with their own poor product or install.
May 28, 2025 · Kristin HarmanHorrible customer service. I had my roof installed in February. Here’s something they failed to mention about metal roofs: 5 days after it was completed, the snow and ice from the top tier of my roof slid down in one giant sheet and slammed into the second tier, dented the entire row of metal shingles, halfway ripped off my gutters, and fell down in a massive heap on my porch. I contacted the company to repair the dented roof and install the roof guards we clearly need to prevent this from happening in the future. I’ve called, emailed, and texted several people from the company and they ignore me. I finally got a response from one person after leaving my satisfaction survey with a comment that the customer service was poor: they promised me they would come out and repair the roof and add the roof guards: they lied. They also said they would give a cash incentive to the person who referred me. They didn’t. They tried to bribe me with gift cards to leave a 5-star review. My $60,000 roof is now damaged, and I’m concerned it’ll happen again next winter. Their business practices are shady and I wouldn’t waste my money with this company who clearly has poor business ethics.
