★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This person- Mr Kiger- gave me a price to do a roof- two months later after 3-4 calls to him- after he's told me twice that he would start on roof next day, he calls and says he will do roof next day. Then I get a message from the person renting the house that this joker said he would be there the next morning to do roof but couldn't do the roof over the porch for the price he quoted. Now why wouldn't the joker come to me and tell me that instead of talking business with a renter that doesn't even own or have any authority in making decisions for the property? Now I wouldn't let him do a roof of mine for nay amount of money- He's a scam!

Jan 12, 2021 · Deb SwaimDale came out to look at my roof last week. He recommended doing half the roof, repairing two pieces of rotted wood, repairing ten shingles on the other half, and including weather guard and 12 roof vents, all for $1180. He looked at the roof, came and sat down, told me all of this while I wrote it down in front of him. He seemed honest and straightforward and later, my boyfriend agreed on the price. He said he didn't take credit. He called and spoke with my boyfriend, and set the repair up for Thursday or Friday, June 11 or 12th. He told me to pick out what color when he came with his son on Friday, June 5. At that time, he mentioned 25 year shingles, when I could swear he said 30 year last week. I called him on Monday, June 8 and told him which color. He asked about 25 or 30 year. He said 30 year would be $130-$150 more. We agreed. Then he said that he had to have the material cost upfront. I asked how much would that be. He said "$300, oh I mean $500". He said we could pay for the material when it got dropped off. He said his son had his truck and he would figure everything and call me back. He called while we were eating out and was mumbling about stuff, acted like he couldn't get his thoughts straight. He asked me how much he told me it would be. I told him $1180 (before we agreed upon the 30 year, which I thought is what he told me initially last week, but didn't mention that). He said they were planning on doing it tomorrow, June 9. I was unaware that my boyfriend set it up for later in the week. Dale was figuring out loud and asked me to remember what he was saying or write it down. I explained that we were in a restaurant, eating lunch, and that I was unable at that time, so he said he'd figure it out and call back. He called back around 7pm and asked again about the price he gave me. I told him $1180. He started acting crazy, raising his voice at me, exclaiming that I was lying and that he wouldn't have told me that because the shingles for half my roof, 13 squares, was $1058.75, not including labor. I had him on speakerphone and my boyfriend couldn't believe what he was hearing. We were taken aback at his accusation because we had been on extremely amiable terms and I thought everything was running smoothly, until he hit me with all of this. I cannot ascertain why he would even think I was making up a price and lying. He saw my paper where I wrote down everything he told me last week. he saw it and added a detail to it. Something is very wrong here. If material (shingles) were going to cost $300...oops, $500 upfront, then how did that, in itself, jump to $1058.75, which would've had to have been paid upfront? Those amounts aren't even on my notes. This information came from three phone calls just today, where he acted like a totally different person from the man I met last week and spoke with earlier today, twice. I don't appreciate being accused of lying, because I am not. We just wanted our roof repaired. Apparently, he didn't really want this job. But if he made a mistake, which I doubt because of his knowledge and experience, he should have said, I'm sorry, but I figured wrong and the price I quoted is not accurate, etc. But to accuse a potential customer of making up things is unbelievable and I wouldn't consider doing any kind of business with him or going any further with this. He was rude and accusatory and a liar who changed his mind and tried to "take us" for more money. I've seen businessmen attempt this tactic with wealthy people, but I am far from that. If you plan to hire Dale, please get your estimate and every stinking detail in writing from him. Make him write it, with his hand AND sign and date it. It wont stop the crazy, or twisting of information, or arguing, but at least you can go to your printer, copy it, give him one, and when he hits you with his increased estimate, you can tell him to look at his copy. It'll make you feel better, even though I don't. Wow, is all I can say about this and good luck to you if you choose his business.
