I called Pro-Tech because they were a preferred vendor listed with my realtor (I had hired other preferred vendors with great success). Lisa from Pro-Tech came out to assess an installation of a ridge vent and some soffit vents. She also gave me some advice regarding some odor problems in my house. I did note that she asked the same questions many times and did not make notes. She said they were very busy, but would make time to get the job done for us as quickly as possible. I also told her my fiance is a night shift nurse who works weekends, so scheduling around weekends could be difficult.Their estimate was very affordable. She sent me their work order form and said that, as soon as I signed it, they would schedule a date to perform the work. The work order has a stipulation that says, once signed, if you cancel, they will charge you a 25% inventory fee (as well as all the legal liability stuff). After a few days, I received a phone call from Lisa, stating that they purchased the material and would be dropping it off at my house (in the driveway). I thought that was odd, since she didn't schedule it ahead of time. I asked about scheduling an installation date, and she said she was working on it.A week went by. Then another week. So, I called her. She was very rude and told me to be patient and she was doing her best. The next week, she called me on a Friday, asking to come over and perform the work the next day (Saturday). Well, since she didn't take notes, she forgot that my fiance is a night shift nurse who works weekends. I asked for an alternate date. She said she couldn't give me a date because "they were very busy".So, another week went by. And another week. And another. Then again, she called the day before a proposed installation date (on a Saturday, but in the evening), which would have worked. She said they were busy, but would try to come over. So, Saturday came and went, with no phone calls or emails. At this point I was fed up. I called her and tried really hard to get an installation date. That didn't happen. She said they had bigger jobs in the queue, and smaller jobs, like mine, weren't important enough to get on the schedule! Really?!Finally, months later, she called me about an installation ON THE SAME DAY (evening). My fiance and I had plans that evening, which we had to cancel, otherwise this would have continued to drag on and on.The crew showed up and went straight to work. On the work order, I had a request for them to give me the wood from the soffit vent cut-outs, so I could get them tested for mold. They didn't. I had to remind them twice while they were working on it. They misunderstood me, too, because they gave me the wood from the ridge vent...not the soffit vents. I also had to ask them twice the push back the insulation for the soffit vent holes. They also only gave me 2 out of 3 cut-outs. I had to walk over to their garbage trailer and pull out the 3rd cut-out, myself (and it had mold on it). When they were ready to leave, I stopped them, because they didn't clean up the insulation they had dropped all over the front of my porch roof, from the soffit vent installation. The ridge vent and soffit vents were installed properly, though, so that was one positive note, as well as the price. However, Lisa is terrible at communication and scheduling, and the crew doesn't follow through on details. The crew leader was nice and didn't complain, though.Still, if I had known how unprofessional they were going to be, I would have paid more money to hire someone else. They have already been removed from my realtor's preferred vendor list. - Jonathan Vukovich

Pro Tech Roofing Systems Introduce

When you're a homeowner in Colorado, the integrity of your roof is a constant concern. Our state’s weather, with its intense hailstorms, heavy snow, and high winds, puts significant stress on roofing systems. Finding a trustworthy and efficient roofing contractor is a critical step in protecting your property. You need a company that is not only skilled in their craft but also professional, organized, and communicative. This article provides a factual overview of Pro Tech Roofing Systems in Colorado Springs, drawing on a detailed customer review to give local users a clear picture of what to expect from their services.

Pro Tech Roofing Systems has a local presence in Colorado Springs, but the customer experience, as detailed in a lengthy review, suggests a company with significant operational challenges. The review starts with a positive note regarding an affordable estimate and the initial contact with a representative named Lisa. However, the experience quickly turns negative, with the customer highlighting a number of issues. The reviewer noted that Lisa asked the same questions multiple times and did not take notes, which led to subsequent communication breakdowns. The company's scheduling process was a major point of frustration. The customer waited for weeks for an installation date, only to be told that their small job "weren't important enough to get on the schedule!" This lack of respect for a customer's time and project size is a significant red flag. The review also mentions that communication with Lisa was at times "very rude." This feedback stands in stark contrast to the professionalism and customer service that homeowners rightfully expect. While there are some indications that the work, once completed, was properly installed, the overall experience was so negative that the customer stated they would have "paid more money to hire someone else."

Pro Tech Roofing Systems is located at 3027 N El Paso St, Colorado Springs, CO 80907, USA. This location gives the company a physical base within the city, making it accessible for local residents. A local address can be reassuring, as it suggests the business is a part of the community. However, as the detailed customer review shows, a local presence does not guarantee a positive experience. The customer noted that despite having the company's contact information and a physical location, they still faced persistent issues with scheduling and responsiveness. For a homeowner, especially one dealing with a crucial repair, the ability to get a timely and professional response is far more important than a convenient address. The review also notes that the company was eventually removed from a realtor's preferred vendor list, which is a powerful indicator of a company whose service falls short of industry standards, regardless of their location.

Based on the detailed customer review, Pro Tech Roofing Systems offers a variety of services, with a focus on roofing system components.

Services offered include:

  • Roofing System Installations: The company was contracted to install a ridge vent and soffit vents, which are critical for proper attic ventilation. While the installation of these items was ultimately done correctly, the process leading up to it was fraught with issues.
  • Roof and Soffit Venting: Their work centers on ventilation systems, which are key for managing attic temperature and moisture, a common need for homeowners in Colorado's climate. The review confirms that the ridge and soffit vents were "installed properly."

The detailed review provides a clear look at the features and highlights—or in this case, the significant pitfalls—of working with Pro Tech Roofing Systems.

Features and highlights include:

  • Affordable Pricing: The customer noted that the company's estimate was "very affordable," which can be a key motivator for homeowners on a budget. However, the review also concludes that the lower price was not worth the trouble.
  • Proper Installation: Despite the numerous issues with communication and scheduling, the final installation of the ridge and soffit vents was completed properly. This suggests that the crew, when they do arrive, is capable of performing the work.
  • Poor Communication and Scheduling: This is a major highlight in the negative sense. The customer experienced extreme difficulty in getting a firm installation date, receiving last-minute calls, and being told that their job was not important enough to schedule.
  • Lack of Attention to Detail: The crew failed to follow specific instructions provided on the work order, such as providing the wood cut-outs from the soffit vents for mold testing. The customer had to remind them multiple times and even retrieve a piece of wood from the trash themselves. The crew also neglected to clean up dropped insulation.
  • Unprofessionalism: The review describes the experience with the main representative, Lisa, as unprofessional and at times "very rude." This behavior, along with the lack of organization and follow-through, left the customer feeling incredibly frustrated.

If you are in Colorado Springs and are considering a roofing project, you can contact Pro Tech Roofing Systems. However, given the detailed customer feedback, it is important to proceed with caution and ask specific questions about project management, communication, and scheduling.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For residents of Colorado Springs, choosing a roofing contractor is a decision that should prioritize trust, reliability, and professionalism. While Pro Tech Roofing Systems offers an affordable price and is capable of performing the installation work, the detailed customer review raises significant concerns that may make them a less-than-ideal choice for many. The overwhelming issues with poor communication, lack of scheduling, and general unprofessionalism far outweigh the benefit of a low price point for a homeowner looking for a stress-free experience. The fact that the company was removed from a realtor's preferred vendor list is a strong signal to the local community about the quality of their service. A suitable contractor for locals is one who values a customer's time and project, regardless of its size, and who communicates effectively and honestly throughout the entire process. Based on the provided public data, potential customers in Colorado Springs may find that the risks associated with hiring Pro Tech Roofing Systems are too great, and that a different contractor might provide a better, more professional experience.
