The company's accessibility allows them to respond quickly to urgent needs, especially after a storm has caused widespread damage. Having a local contractor who is familiar with the community and the insurance claim process can be invaluable during such stressful times. Their presence in Brighton ensures they are never far away, providing a sense of security for local property owners.
Storm Guard Roofing and Construction offers a broad range of services that go beyond just roofing, providing comprehensive solutions for a property’s exterior needs. They specialize in both residential and commercial projects, catering to a diverse clientele.
- Roof Replacement and Installation: They provide full-scale roof replacement services, working with a variety of materials including asphalt shingles, metal roofing, and flat roofs. They manage the entire process from tear-off to final cleanup, ensuring a durable and high-quality installation.
- Storm Damage Repair: A core part of their business, Storm Guard specializes in repairing roofs damaged by wind, hail, snow, and ice. They are experienced in working with insurance companies to help clients navigate the claims process, making a difficult situation easier to manage.
- Roof and Siding Repair: Beyond major replacements, they also handle smaller repairs, fixing leaks, replacing missing shingles, and addressing other issues that can compromise a roof's integrity. Their services often extend to siding repairs to ensure the home's exterior is fully protected.
- Exterior Construction Services: The "and Construction" in their name indicates a wider range of exterior services. This can include siding installation, window replacement, and gutter services, providing a one-stop-shop for many home exterior projects.
- Proactive Communication: A key aspect of their service, as highlighted by positive customer feedback, is their commitment to keeping clients informed. They are known for providing updates on project timelines, especially when weather-related delays occur, which is a crucial part of managing expectations.
The customer reviews for Storm Guard Roofing and Construction provide a contrasting view of the company's performance, which offers valuable insight into their operations.
- Professional and Pleasant Communication: One customer review highlighted the team, including Elvis, as "extremely competent and, almost as important, very pleasant and easy to communicate with." This positive feedback points to a company that values its customer relationships and strives for a friendly, informative interaction.
- Detailed and Transparent Process: The same positive review noted that the team "assessed our roofing needs as they proceeded, clearly explained what they recommended and what was required for the roof's warranty as the job progressed." This level of transparency and client education is a significant highlight, as it builds trust and ensures the homeowner is an active part of the decision-making process.
- Efficient Work and Cleanup: A major highlight is the team's efficiency and cleanliness. The reviewer noted they "worked efficiently to replace our roof, and cleaned up as much as possible before packing up to leave." This shows a commitment to minimizing disruption and leaving the property in good condition.
- Challenges with Timeliness and Responsiveness: A negative review, however, points to significant issues with project timeliness and communication. The customer cited a job that took months to complete, and a lack of responsiveness following the project's completion when a water damage issue arose. This feedback suggests there can be inconsistencies in their project management and post-job support.
- Divergent Customer Experiences: The existence of two very different reviews indicates that the quality of service may depend on specific project managers or internal communication. It suggests that while the company has the capacity for excellent service, as evidenced by the positive review, there may be areas for improvement in consistency and follow-up.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. We hired them to replace our 200 sq ft porch roof in 2017. They started in early December and did not complete the job until May 5th. During that entire time they left their materials and garbage in our yard. I would call every few weeks to get an update on when they would return and take advantage of warmer, snow free days but would not hear anything.Once they finally finished, we noticed some water damage in our living room ceiling, just below where the flashing would have been placed for the porch roof. I've been calling/texting/leaving voicemails for both the project manager and office for weeks now with little response and no action. When someone does finally pick up a phone, they tell me they will call me back within the hour and never do.
Aug 15, 2018 · Adam ChildElvis and his team are extremely competent and, almost as important, very pleasant and easy to communicate with. Our work was delayed due to the winter weather, but they kept up informed about the situation and when they expected the work could be done. They arrived on time, fully covered the sides of our house with huge screens to catch debris, assessed our roofing needs as they proceeded, clearly explained what they recommended and what was required for the roof's warranty as the job progressed, worked efficiently to replace our roof, and cleaned up as much as possible before packing up to leave. Everyone I spoke to at the company- from the first phone call and assessment until the job was completed- was very helpful, answered all my questions, were knowledgeable about their business and were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend Storm Guard and will definitely be using them again for our outdoor repair needs.
Apr 10, 2018 · Lisa ElwellNothing but positives, starting at the very beginning when Craig came to our house to make his pitch. He listened to what we wanted, suggested reasonable alternatives and best of all, he understood the job that needed to be done. We had two other people in to quote and I'm not sure that they had ever put a roof on before and would not listen. The team came when they said they would, got the work done quickly and cleaned the place up. Elvis, the manager, did a great job communicating what was going on, checking in whenever anything deviated from the plan. The roof looks great, they did no damage to our plantings, we had no cleanup and they came back and cleaned up the punch list. We're very pleased with the whole experience and recommend them to anyone.
May 23, 2017 · Bruce BaranI'm utterly disappointed. The project manager was very helpful at the beginning but stopped responding to phone calls, texts, and emails after the payment was made. The job was not complete. They need to come back to replace a few shingles that had screw holes in them, but they kept say they're too busy. I've called them every week for about a month. The office personnel is very unprofessional and unhelpful in resolving the issue. They don't care about leaving holes in your roof for water to leak through causing molds and damages to your house and health risks to your family. They're terrible in cleaning up. I'm still picking nails around the house. I had to remove 2 nails from 2 of my tires. I will be contacting their corporate office in Texas to escalate.
Aug 13, 2018 · dangrekcamperI used Storm Guard twice this year. After they put a roof on my house I used them to put a roof on my parents house. Joel Trudel was excellent to work with. He answered all my questions and provided me with a very competitive price. Elvis Plokhooy ran both jobs on site for Storm Guard. He communicates well. One job we dealt with weather issues and Elvis remained proactive through the entire job. I was very happy with the job they did. When they were done I could not find one scrap or nail in my yard. They protected all my flower beds and shrubs. Both jobs were done quickly and professionally.
