The Cedar Roof Comapny had replaced the roof on a house we were looking to buy years before, but when we went to purchase this house, our inspector told us that the roof was "shot" and needed replacement. Cedar Roof spoke to the owners and assured them that the roof was fine. We paid to have to very well known cedar roof experts from two different companies with over 50 yrs experience in this business, and both agreed that the roof was badly in need of replacement. We were given an estimate for replacement at over $100,000. Because the owner didn't want to incur the expense, they said they believed the Cedar Roof co. and would not budge. We killed the deal, and moved on, but I spoke to the owner of Cedar Roof Company, and he maintained that you "do not even need the cedar roofing, as long as the waterproof layer laid underneath the roof is intact, because it can't leak (see the review under this one to see the ridiculous proof against this insane statement). How do you argue with a company who believes such nonsense ? They also told us that they had installed most of the roofs in the neighborhood where this house was, which all have cedar shake roofs. I spoke to several of the owners in the neighboring houses, and NOT ONE of them had even heard of this company. I guess you just repeat the same lies, thinking no one will call you on it, until they do. Do business with these hucksters at your own peril. Cost us thousands of dollars when this deal fell through. We did find a much better home that doesn't have a cedar roof in the end.

Beyond disappointed with this company, and would highly recommend NOT using them! Before purchasing our home, we paid Cedar Roof Company to come out and pre-inspect the roof since it's such a large expense to replace and we wanted to know what condition it was in before deciding on purchasing the house. We received a very professional letter reporting they inspected it and certified it was in overall good shape with 8-10 years life left. Solely because of this report stating the roof was in good condition, we purchased this house! Less than 2 months of owning the house, we began to have water leaking in. When we reached out to this company to have them come out, they were unavailable for a couple days - which we didn't have since water was coming into our kitchen! We had another company come out to do the repair, at which time we were told we were on borrowed time with this roof. We were shocked to learn this and decided to have another company come out for their opinion - 3 more companies later, all saying the same thing..we needed a new roof now! When we reached back out to Cedar Roof company and told them, they could care less and stood by their findings saying we still had 8-10 years left! With multiple leaks we have had no choice but to have our roof replaced less than ONE year after purchasing the house. We are super disappointed in this company because not only did we trust them and purchase the home because of their pre inspection report but we also overpaid. Now we are spending over 40K for something we had no intentions of needing to do for a many years! And to make matters worse, the owner of Cedar Roof Company came out to our house and offered to take $100 off a repair bill if we used them for repairs - no thanks! Can't stress enough that this is a very dishonest, unprofessional company that does not deserve anyone's business.
