DO NOT, under any circumstance, use this company if you care about the underlying health of your home. The average homeowner is not adequately educated in the realm of windows and siding to know the difference between hacks like Yost and many other reputable companies.While the attorney fee’s pile up, Yost is sitting on the money which I paid them. 90% of the job was paid for and yet 99% of the work that was done is WRONG, FAULTY, INCOMPLETE and MEANINGLESS. They have done nothing to rectify the situation. In fact, they have found a way to drag the whole mess on for months while my home is literally exposed to the elements.I was introduced to Yost by neighbors of mine who used them. Their answer was Yes to everything and off the bat gave the impression of being knowledgeable. Its clear that they will overpromise and under-deliver.Once the contract was agreed, they started within a week. In hindsight I probably should have questioned why most companies were 3-4 months out and Yost could start whenever I wanted. The guys on the job spoke little to no English at all so there was a very high language barrier.After removing stucco, the house was completely exposed for about 1 day at which point they started wrapping the house with Hydrogap paper. I found this odd. In a very hasty fashion, they covered everything including the areas of the house where there was moldy and rotted wood. Turns out they lifted the bottom lap of the paper and made repairs by working underneath the paper. I was not given pictures of the repairs made until later in the month. Upon inspection, the framing repairs were done incorrectly.The paper was attached to the walls haphazardly and this was a common theme for the remainder of the work done. Bubbles in the paper, short of the window flanges and soffiting, incorrect lapping above the headers of the windows – they even used incorrect fasteners.It was at the next stage of the project when I really started to look closely at the work they were doing. They began installing Azek trim around windows, doors, garages and creating mounting blocks for lights, hose bibbs etc etc. The cuts were VERY sloppy. The seams were showing. Instead of using cortex screws, they used finishing nails! I did not realize this until 5 reputable contractors and 2 construction engineers/inspectors had come to inspect the work weeks later.The entirety of the siding application was done incorrectly. They did not have a starter strip at the first course of shingles. They did not paint all the exposed cut edges. They did not create the proper gaps above windows and doors. They did not maintain proper clearance from paved surfaces. They literally left parts of the house open to the elements. And most impactful to me was the ugliness of the workmanship!For 5 months after they left the jobsite, I passionately worked to have Yost return to the job to correct the many deficiencies associated with their work under a compliant contract. They agreed that ALL the siding and part of the roofing needed to be redone. They agreed (verbally) to rip off all the brand new Hardie siding, azek trimwork and hydrogap paper and start over from the beginning - which was validation that their initial work was complete garbage. Since the original contract I signed with them was not compliant under the Pennsylvania Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act, I spent an enormous amount time and money having my attorney create an amendment to the original contract that THEY WOULD NOT SIGN. They completely abandoned the job and to this day their scaffolding is still at our house. Furthermore, they didn’t express any sense of urgency or seriousness with respect to correcting their work. I asked them for my money back multiple times but they refused. Now a formal lawsuit must be filed to recoup this money.If you’re reading this, you’re probably considering hiring Yost for some aspect of construction on your home. At this point in time, I WOULD NOT recommend this company.

I could not be more impressed with this company. I needed a minor repair to my home. My call was immediately answered by Mike, who could talk me through options and discuss my issue. Though during conversation it was honestly stated that their services weren't truly in line with what I needed (a tiny patch), he still offered to come out and take a look at the issue as I wanted to make sure there wasn't additional damage done to the home that I wasn't aware of. I declined stating that I didn't wish to waste their time as they had nothing to gain. He immediately disagreed and said that he would be happy to come take a look. He arrived the next morning, reviewed my issue, gave me feedback and was beyond helpful, all the while knowing that I wouldn't yet have need of their services. I could not be more grateful or impressed at this spectacular display of good business and partnership. I will, absolutely, use Yost when my needs align with their service and will tell anyone who will listen to use them as well. Thank you!
