123 Exteriors Cleveland Introduce
In the diverse climate of Ohio, your home's exterior is constantly put to the test. From the heavy storms and hail that can cause immediate damage to the gradual wear and tear from seasonal temperature changes, a strong and reliable roof is essential for protecting your property. For homeowners in the Cleveland area, navigating the home improvement landscape to find a trustworthy roofing contractor can be a challenge. A reputable company should offer not only quality work but also transparent communication and a commitment to customer satisfaction from start to finish. This article aims to provide a factual and detailed overview of 123 Exteriors Cleveland, an exterior contractor operating in the Rocky River area, based on publicly available information, including customer reviews. The goal is to equip local users with the necessary details to make an informed decision about their home exterior needs.
When a homeowner is faced with a roofing issue, whether it's storm damage or simply an aging roof, the search for a contractor is often driven by a need for efficiency and a desire for a smooth process. You want a company that will not only perform the work correctly but also manage the project professionally, from the initial inspection to the final cleanup. Unfortunately, not all experiences are positive, and understanding the potential pitfalls is just as important as knowing the potential benefits. The experiences of past customers, both good and bad, offer invaluable insight into a company's business practices and service quality. Reading through a variety of reviews can help paint a more complete picture, shedding light on a company's strengths and weaknesses, and helping you determine if they are the right fit for your specific project.
123 Exteriors Cleveland has a physical presence in the Greater Cleveland area, with an office located at 20033 Detroit Rd A, Rocky River, OH 44116, USA. This location makes them a local contractor for residents in Rocky River, as well as the surrounding communities in Cuyahoga County and beyond. Having a local office can be a benefit for customers, as it suggests a stable business that is part of the community it serves. It also provides a central point of contact for clients who may need to visit the office for consultations or to discuss their projects in person.
However, accessibility isn't just about a physical address; it's also about communication and responsiveness. One customer review mentioned that after a contract was signed, communication became an issue, with a representative becoming difficult to reach. Another review highlights a pattern of canceled appointments and a general lack of communication, leaving the customer to call and confirm if workers were still planning to come. This lack of reliable communication can be a significant point of frustration for homeowners who are trying to manage a large-scale project and plan their schedules accordingly.
123 Exteriors presents itself as a full-service exterior contractor, offering a range of services designed to address various home improvement needs. Their business model appears to be heavily focused on storm damage restoration and working with insurance claims.
Roofing Services: The company provides roof inspections, repairs, and replacements. They often conduct these inspections in response to storm damage, identifying issues that could be covered by a homeowner's insurance policy. However, a review noted an issue with the quality of the work and a lack of proper communication during the process, including shingles of the wrong color being used around a skylight.
Siding and Gutters: In addition to roofing, they also offer siding and gutter services. This allows them to handle multiple exterior projects for a single homeowner, especially in the wake of storm-related damage. One customer considered them for a siding project but ultimately went with a different company due to a better price and their negative experience with the roofing aspect of the project.
Window Replacement: The company also provides window replacement services. One customer was given an estimate for this service but decided against it due to the price being "exorbitant."
Insurance Claims Assistance: A key part of their business model is assisting homeowners with filing and managing insurance claims for storm damage. While one review mentioned a representative who was helpful in this process initially, a negative experience noted that the company "did not do their due diligence in advocating for appropriate materials and labor costs" during the insurance company's structural review, leaving the homeowner with a mess to sort out with their insurer.
Based on customer feedback, several key features and highlights, both positive and negative, emerge regarding 123 Exteriors. These points are crucial for any potential client to consider before engaging their services.
Insurance Claim Expertise: The company advertises expertise in handling insurance claims for storm-related damage. They conduct free inspections to identify issues that may be eligible for a claim. This can be a major draw for homeowners who are unsure how to navigate the claims process on their own. However, one review indicates that this process can be problematic, and the company may not always act in the customer's best interest if the job size is deemed too small.
Lack of Communication: A recurring theme in the reviews is poor communication. Customers reported difficulty reaching their representatives after a contract was signed, leading to a feeling of being "haphazardly dropped." This can cause significant delays and frustration, as seen in the case of a job that took "over 7 months to finish."
Workmanship and Cleanup Issues: Customers have expressed concerns about the quality of the work and the professionalism of the crew. One review cited multiple mistakes, including the use of wrong-colored shingles around a skylight and a job that was "not even good" after seven months. A very serious issue was the careless throwing of a skylight from a second-floor window, which shattered glass on the lawn where children play, with no apology offered by the worker.
Exclusive Rights Contracts: One customer highlighted a concern with the contract process, noting that they were "hastily presented a contract saying his company would have exclusive rights to work on my roof." This is a significant detail for homeowners to be aware of, as it can limit their ability to seek other bids or services. The customer also noted that the company dropped the project when it didn't meet a certain cost threshold, which was not mentioned in the initial paperwork.
Greed and Abandonment of Projects: A powerful and recurring theme in the negative reviews is the feeling that the company is motivated by greed and will abandon a customer's project if it doesn't meet their financial expectations. This is evidenced by the company dropping a project that was under a certain dollar amount, leaving the customer with an "insurance mess."

This information is provided for your convenience. It's recommended to do your own thorough research and ask for multiple quotes before committing to any contractor.
In conclusion, for locals in the Ohio region, particularly in and around Rocky River, it is crucial to approach the process of hiring a roofing contractor with a great deal of caution and due diligence. While 123 Exteriors Cleveland may market themselves as a local option for storm damage restoration, the available customer reviews present a significant number of red flags. The documented issues of poor communication, prolonged project timelines, concerns over workmanship and safety, and allegations of abandoning projects for financial reasons are serious considerations for any homeowner. One customer's experience of being left with an "insurance mess" is a particularly alarming warning for others who might be considering their services. Choosing a contractor is a major decision, and it is vital to select a company that is not only competent but also honest, reliable, and committed to your project from beginning to end, regardless of its size. The experiences shared by former clients suggest that a homeowner should proceed with extreme caution and seek additional quotes and references before entering into a contract with this business.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy after the way 123 Exteriors treated me. I responded to a flyer they mailed out about a free roof inspection. The gentleman who came out was courteous and found several issues that he deemed worthy of an insurance claim. Without much discussion, he hastily presented a contract saying his company would have exclusive rights to work on my roof. He seemed professional and earnest, so I decided to move forward with the claim. He helped me call my insurance company and seemed competent. He inquired about other issues evident with my house, and when he found out that I was looking for siding, he was eager to place a bid. We worked together via text, and everything seemed copacetic. Based on price, I decided to choose a different company for the siding project. He also provided an estimate to replace several windows, but the price was so exorbitant that I decided not to move forward with that additional project. Soon after, he informed me that they wouldn’t do my roof repairs because the job was less than $5k, and he promptly dropped all communication. None of the paperwork he provided after his inspection mentioned anything about such a limit. This company will haphazardly drop customers if they don’t get what they want. I’ve had to recruit a different company to pick up where 123 Exteriors left off. The new company informed me that 123 Exteriors did not do their due diligence in advocating for appropriate materials and labor costs during the insurance company’s structural review. This company was greedy and left me with an insurance mess. Beware.
Jul 24, 2025 · Victoria F123 Exteriors were by far the worst company for the roof that we dealt with. First of all, they bring workers that throw a skylight from my bathroom on the 2nd floor. The glass shattered all over my lawn. I told the worker oh you just threw the skylight from the 2nd floor and what was his response oh we’ll clean it up. No sorry or anything. I have grandchildren and they play on the grass and thank for nobody was hurt from the glass.Second of all it took them over 7 months to finish a job that’s not even good. They made so many mistakes that is ridiculous. Also Adam in the beginning was good and would answer call but once we signed with them we couldn’t even reach him. They also ordered the wrong skylights and finally they got the right one. They also made so many appointments with us and I would call to see if anyone was still coming. They put a skylight and they put the wrong color shingles around itOne time someone had a flat tire the second time someone died and they wouldn’t cancel until we called to make sure if they were coming or notIf I had to do over again, I would not go with 123 exteriors.
Apr 04, 2025 · Mayy ZayedI am still in the beginning stages but I have to say Kyle Ackerman is the most absolute BEST. He is super knowledgeable and has been so amazing during this process. I am a single mom and a first time homeowner, so when things go wrong or repairs are needed it can be stressful when you don't know where to start. And dealing with the insurance companies. Kyle has been wonderful he has went to bat for me dealt with the insurance company and has gotten everything approved so that I can have the house that I want desire and deserve and I am eternally grateful. I tell Kyle every time I speak to him that I am so glad that he knocked on my door and I decided to open it. I cannot wait to see what my whole new house is going to look like.......**UPDATE** just 5 words...THEY DID AN AMAZING JOB
Dec 22, 2022 · MzHawkins77The project manager and crew were very efficient and completed my roof installation in no time at all. The roof looks tremendous and the clean up and attention to detail was phenomenal.
Oct 12, 2024 · miichael gambleDue to a storm in my neighborhood, there were plenty of "restoration" and "repair" companies combing our area. Many were leaving flyers or ringing doorbells. Had a hard time figuring out who to contact. After Brand was done making his pitch and providing some information, I had 123 Exteriors analyze my house. I contacted my insurance and 123 Exteriors was there during the insurance adjusters visit to help promote my house as a candidate for repairs. Once approved, 123 Exteriors sat down and we went through what my insurance would cover and what they would do. Was pleased with Adam's explanation on how they followed manufactures recommendations regarding installation of roof, siding and gutters. Installation took a while to start, but was done without a break from the different trades. Was very pleased with the mechanic Joe, who did an excellent job in the detail work. Took one week to replace roof (two layers), aluminum siding and gutters. Was very pleased with how job turned out. Still waiting for final insurance payment at this time.
