Ability Plus Roofing Introduce
When you're a homeowner in Oregon, the health and integrity of your roof are a constant consideration. The Pacific Northwest climate, with its cycles of heavy rain and wind, means that a reliable roofing contractor is not a luxury but a necessity. This article is written for you, the local resident, to provide a clear and informative overview of a well-known Beaverton business, Ability Plus Roofing. We will explore their services, their approach to customer service, and the feedback from real customers to give you a balanced perspective on what to expect. Finding a contractor you can trust is a crucial step in home maintenance, and this guide is designed to help you make that decision with confidence.
Ability Plus Roofing has been a part of the Oregon roofing landscape for many years, building a reputation for handling a wide range of residential roofing needs. The company's services are extensive, covering everything from comprehensive roof replacements to smaller-scale repairs and inspections. They are committed to using high-quality materials and employing skilled crews to ensure that every job is completed to a professional standard. This is a company that understands that a roof is a significant investment, and they work to provide solutions that are not only effective but also long-lasting. They take pride in their work and aim to provide a level of craftsmanship that protects your home for decades.
The experience with a roofing company is about more than just the final product. It's about communication, reliability, and trust. While some customers have had overwhelmingly positive experiences with large-scale projects, praising the crew's professionalism and attention to detail, others have faced challenges with communication and follow-up on smaller repairs. A managing real estate broker's review, for instance, highlights a seamless process for a full roof replacement, noting the thorough explanations, daily site cleanup, and protection of the property. This shows the company's capability for handling major projects with a high degree of professionalism. However, a review from senior citizens regarding a repair job outlines difficulties in communication, unfulfilled promises of providing pictures, and a final result that was not up to contract standards. These varied experiences highlight the importance of clear, documented communication and diligent follow-up from both the contractor and the homeowner, especially on smaller repair jobs.
Convenience and accessibility are key factors for any local business. Ability Plus Roofing is located at 16055 SW Walker Rd #110, Beaverton, OR 97006, USA. This location in the heart of Beaverton makes them an excellent choice for homeowners throughout the Portland metropolitan area, including Hillsboro, Tigard, and other surrounding communities. Their central position allows them to respond efficiently to service calls and manage projects across a wide service area. For a local resident, this means they are never too far away when you need an estimate, an inspection, or a scheduled repair. The company's deep familiarity with the Beaverton area and the broader Oregon region is a distinct advantage. They understand the local building codes, common architectural styles, and the specific types of weather-related issues that homes in this area face. This local expertise is invaluable, as it ensures that the work they perform is not only up to code but also perfectly suited to the unique demands of the Pacific Northwest climate.
Ability Plus Roofing offers a comprehensive range of services tailored to meet the diverse needs of homeowners in Oregon. Their expertise covers various aspects of roofing and related home exterior components.
- Full Roof Replacement: A primary service, this involves tearing off old roofing materials and installing a completely new, durable system. One customer review highlights their experience with a tear-off of two roofs, with the oldest being 49 years old, and praises the crew for their seamless work and professional approach over four days.
- Roof Repairs and Maintenance: The company also provides services for smaller jobs, such as fixing leaks or replacing damaged components. A customer review, however, serves as a cautionary tale about a repair for "failed ridge caps" that was not properly completed, highlighting the importance of clear communication and verification of work.
- Ventilation and Safety Features: As noted in a customer review, their estimators are knowledgeable about the latest roofing features, including current ventilation and safety upgrades. This shows a commitment to not just replacing a roof but also improving its overall function and safety.
- Carpentry Services: A surprising highlight from a customer review is the inclusion of carpentry skills. An estimator noted "a deterioration in the facia boards," and the crew was skilled enough to address this issue, showing that they offer a more holistic approach to roofing that includes related structural work.
Ability Plus Roofing has several key features and highlights that are important for local homeowners to consider. These aspects are drawn from customer feedback and public data.
- Professional and Skilled Crews: For large-scale projects, the company is praised for its professional, four-person crew that worked "seamlessly for four days" and "worked cleaning the site daily." This demonstrates their ability to manage significant jobs with efficiency and a high level of on-site care.
- Thorough Explanations: The company's estimators are noted for providing a "very thorough explanation of the work" and offering insights into new features and recommendations. This transparent approach helps homeowners feel more informed and confident in their decisions.
- Site Protection and Cleanliness: On large replacement projects, the crew is lauded for protecting "the grounds and vegetation... with tarps" and leaving the site as they "found it." This attention to detail is a significant plus for homeowners who want their property respected during the construction process.
- Varied Customer Experiences: It is important to note the mixed reviews. While some customers are highly satisfied, particularly with large replacements, others have faced issues with communication and the quality of repairs, suggesting a need for homeowners to be proactive in their communication and to verify all aspects of the work, especially on smaller projects.
You can contact Ability Plus Roofing to discuss your roofing needs, whether you are planning a full replacement or a simple repair.

In conclusion, Ability Plus Roofing is a suitable choice for Oregon residents, particularly for those in the Beaverton and surrounding areas, who are considering a full roof replacement. Their strengths lie in their ability to handle large, complex projects with professional crews, thorough explanations, and a commitment to site cleanliness. The positive feedback from customers, especially a managing real estate broker with decades of experience, speaks volumes about their capability for significant residential roofing jobs. Their knowledge of current ventilation systems and their unexpected carpentry skills also add significant value. While some customers have reported challenges with communication and follow-up on smaller repairs, it is clear that for major projects, the company has a strong reputation for delivering a high-quality product. For any homeowner, and particularly senior citizens who may not be able to physically inspect the work, it is always advisable to establish a clear and documented communication plan and to ask for photographic evidence of completed work, no matter the size of the job. For those in Oregon looking to make a major investment in a new roof, Ability Plus Roofing's track record with large-scale projects makes them a strong contender.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Beware of Ability Roofing for repairs! We contacted Ability Plus Roofing for an estimate on replacing our failed ridge caps iOctober 2023. On their recommendation, we agreed to have them do a repair instead of a full replacement. Their company assured us that this was not an unusual repair for roof caps, and that they performed this work regularly. A full contract of the work to be completed was agreed on to include fully seal hip and ridge shingles/ridges and seal all exposed nails. After their employee came on Oct 31, 2023, and did the job, we were supposed to receive pictures of the work completed. The employee didn’t let us know he was finished with the job, he just left at some point in the day. No pictures were provided despite multiple requests on our part. We received different answers as to why no pictures had been sent. The file was too big, the email address wouldn’t allow the files to be received. An additional email address was provided, but still no pictures. However, we did get notification that our payment was past due despite not receiving an invoice. We requested a copy of the invoice, and paid immediately by check placing it in the mail that business day. When they had not received the check in 5 days, we received a call asking why they had not received payment? As the check was mailed, I couldn’t explain this but did again ask for the pictures of the completed work. Ability received payment within the next day or so and we let it go, never receiving the requested pictures. During the wind storm on March 9, 2024, a skylight blew off our roof. We contacted a roofer who came the same day as water poured through the missing skylight. To our surprise, the roofer inspecting the damage to the skylight reported that the ridge caps r and nails had not been properly or completely sealed as per the contract. He proceeded to provide us with multiple pictures which clearly showed this problem. We contacted Ability the next business day and informed them of the poor work that had been performed and sent them copies of the pictures without difficulty. We requested a refund for the work not completed by Ability as we now had little trust they had ever intended to do the job properly in the first place and we were now needing to replace the ridge caps as first requested. Ability responded that they would not issue a refund, they were only willing to come and re-do the job. That was the extent of their guarantee. Unfortunately, as senior citizens we would not be able to access the roof to inspect any job done by Ability and declined to have them return. We are now out the original payment plus the cost of having the replacement completed months after torrential downpours over the past months. Pictures of the work done by Ability are attached. Homeowner be advised.
Mar 18, 2024 · Michelle StandridgeIn preparation for putting my home on the market, I had a whole house inspection done, and my roof failed quite remarkably. As a managing real estate broker for over 25 years, I have suggested Ability Plus to countless agents based on others’ experiences, and then I got a chance to use them myself. My house needed a tear of two roofs, the oldest being 49 years old. The ventilation had become inadequate. An estimator came out and explained the new features in roofing, recommended current ventilation and safety features and noted a deterioration in the facia boards. It had not occurred to me that roofers are also skilled carpenters. I received a very thorough explanation of the work and scheduled the work. The four-person crew showed up and worked seamlessly for four days, cleaning the site daily and leaving plenty of egress and ingress. The grounds and vegetation were always protected with tarps, and they left the site as they found it.
Jun 13, 2025 · Bill BrewerAbility Plus recently completed a new roof install on my home and they did a fantastic job. The work was completed in 2 days and it looks amazing. In addition to the work at the job site, communication was also excellent. Carrie in the office was a great point of contact and she was always available when we had questions.
Mar 10, 2025 · Alexander FortsonI have used Ability 3 times now and would recommend them to anyone considering roof or skylight repair or replacement. They were prompt, efficient, friendly, communicative and affordable. I always know what was happening and when, even when weather was unpredictable. The level of accountability in the entire process was fantastic. I have and would use them again.
Apr 28, 2023 · Stephen SchmidtMy neighbor who works in construction referred me to Ability Plus Roofing and I'm glad he did. They came in at a good price, Carrie in the home office was always on point when it came to communications and coordination, I never felt upsell pressure in the slightest, and the work was done promptly and well. A lot of roofing companies come and go. There's a reason Ability Plus has stood the test of time. I don't know if anybody *wants* to put money into their roof but when you *need* to do just that, you want quality at a competitive price from a company characterized by professionalism. And that's exactly what I feel I got.
