American Metal Roofs Introduce
For homeowners in Michigan, the search for a new roof is often driven by a need for long-term durability and protection against our state's unpredictable and often severe weather. While traditional asphalt shingles have been the standard for years, many residents are now looking for a more permanent solution that can stand up to heavy snow, ice, strong winds, and hail. This is where a specialized contractor like American Metal Roofs comes in. Based in Charlotte, Michigan, this company focuses on providing high-quality metal roofing systems designed to be a lifetime investment for your home. Their approach is centered on offering a superior product that not only looks great but also provides exceptional protection and energy efficiency, a combination that is particularly appealing to local homeowners looking to enhance their property's value and security. They tout their metal roofs as a solution that is built to last for decades, often outliving several traditional shingle roofs, which is a significant consideration for anyone tired of frequent roof replacements.
American Metal Roofs has a mission to provide a roofing system that is a wise, long-term investment. They emphasize that their metal roofs are engineered to withstand the harshest Michigan winters and the biggest storms the state has to offer. They pride themselves on a transparent process that starts with a no-obligation, pressure-free consultation. Their certified consultants are trained to assess your specific needs and help you determine if a metal roof is the right fit for your situation. This process includes a comprehensive inspection of your existing roof and attic, where they use sophisticated equipment to identify potential issues and energy savings. This thoroughness is designed to give homeowners a complete understanding of their home's condition before any work begins. However, as some customer feedback indicates, the execution of these plans by the installation crew is something that homeowners should remain vigilant about. While the company claims to use "trained metal roof specialists - no subcontractors," some customers have reported issues with the quality of the installation, such as un-cut vents and poor cleanup, which can lead to major problems down the line if not caught in time. This makes it crucial for homeowners to be proactive and involved in every step of the installation process, even with a seemingly trusted contractor.
The company also places a strong emphasis on the energy efficiency of its products. They highlight that their metal roofs are cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, which can lead to significant savings on energy bills over time. This is a key selling point for homeowners in Michigan, where both air conditioning in the summer and heating in the winter can be major expenses. The company claims that a metal roof can reflect a large portion of the sun's radiant heat, a benefit that is particularly attractive during the warmer months. Their product offerings include a variety of styles and colors, from classic panel-style roofs to those that mimic the appearance of traditional shingles, shakes, or tiles. This variety allows homeowners to get the benefits of a metal roof without sacrificing the aesthetic they desire for their home. While one customer, Clare & Ben, praised the company for a brand new roof that was "done exceptionally" and left "neat and clean," other customers have expressed significant dissatisfaction with the quality of the installation and the professionalism of the sales and post-installation support. This highlights a clear inconsistency in the customer experience, suggesting that while some teams may deliver excellent results, others may fall short of the company's promised standards, making careful due diligence from the homeowner's perspective absolutely essential.
American Metal Roofs is located at 1875 Lansing Rd, Charlotte, MI 48813, USA. This location makes them a key local presence in the Charlotte area and a central hub for serving a wide range of Michigan communities. Their physical showroom in Charlotte allows potential customers to see the various products and styles firsthand, helping them to make a more informed decision about their investment. For local residents, this accessibility is a major convenience, as it means they can easily visit the company's location, speak with representatives, and view samples of the materials that will be used on their home. This direct, in-person interaction can be a significant factor for homeowners who prefer to deal with a local company rather than a distant one. The company's service area extends throughout greater Michigan, with a focus on communities in and around Charlotte. This local focus allows them to build a reputation within the community and ensures that their team is familiar with the specific needs and challenges of homes in the region. However, as one disgruntled customer's review demonstrates, even with a local presence, the post-installation support and responsiveness can sometimes be lacking, which is a serious concern for a high-cost product like a metal roof.
The accessibility of American Metal Roofs is a key benefit, especially for those in need of storm damage restoration services. Their local presence means they can respond more quickly to emergencies, helping homeowners to secure their properties and prevent further damage. The company's commitment to serving Michigan communities since 2000 has also allowed them to establish a broad network of clients. They also offer various financing options and payment plans, making a high-end metal roof more accessible to a wider range of homeowners. This is an important consideration for many people who may be interested in the long-term benefits of a metal roof but are concerned about the initial upfront cost. However, the inconsistency in customer experiences highlighted in public reviews suggests that while the company may offer an excellent product and sales process, the quality of the installation and customer service can vary. This is a critical point for any local homeowner to consider, as the final outcome of a roofing project is entirely dependent on the quality of the work performed. While some customers like Clare and Ben have had a wonderful experience, others have had serious issues with the installation and follow-up service, which raises questions about the consistency of the company's operations.

In conclusion, American Metal Roofs presents itself as a top-tier choice for homeowners in Michigan seeking a permanent, energy-efficient, and durable roofing solution. Their specialization in metal roofing and their focus on customer education during the sales process are significant benefits. However, local residents should be aware that the customer experience can be inconsistent, with some reviews praising the company's work and others raising serious concerns about installation quality and post-sales support. While the company offers a superior product and a clear sales process, the mixed feedback from customers suggests that homeowners must be proactive and diligent throughout the entire project to ensure a positive outcome. For a significant investment like a new metal roof, due diligence is key. While the company has had many positive outcomes, the negative experiences of some customers should serve as a cautionary tale. For those who are willing to be highly involved in the process, American Metal Roofs could provide the long-lasting roof they desire. However, it is essential for any local homeowner to weigh the potential benefits against the risks highlighted by these customer reviews before making a final decision.

American Metal Roofs Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had American Metal Roofs put a new metal roof on the house and garage in the fall of 2021. It was the shingle style metal and was VERY expensive. The crew took about a week and didn't do a very good job of picking up the nails and metal pieces that they dropped on the ground. They touted their roof venting system as so much better than regular ones. But... when we took the roof off because the house was part of the land being bought for the Ford Motor Plant in Marshall, Michigan, we found that they had put Tyvek over the old roof and never cut the vents open. If this situation had stayed for the next years, I'm sure we would have had horrible issues from the heat build up in the attics. Trying to get anyone to respond was pointless. I just want people to know that this happened. The owner of a house would never guess that they should make sure that an installation crew did what they were supposed to do. Additionally, their salesman was like a used car salesman and after the roof was paid for, was unresponsive and unprofessional. We are so disappointed in having spent that amount of money on the roof.Well... As you can see from the response from American Metal Roofs, they think it was because of the stress of the move that I gave them a bad review. Wishing me the best after I explained that they had not cut the vents for the roof which would have resulted in home damage if NOT for the fact that we did have to move and found their mistake. This is again the type of non-customer concern that a company like this will give you. Good luck to anyone else who finds out that American Metal Roofs is not a company you want to spend thousands of dollars with. I suggest that anyone considering using American Metal Roofs find another contractor. I'm sure that the estimate you get will be lower and hopefully, the treatment will be better.
Nov 17, 2023 · SandyWe are 100% satisfied with our brand new roof. The team was very good and knowledgeable everything was done exceptionally and after they were done they left everything neat and clean. Thank you AMR Clare & Ben.
May 22, 2025 · Heather SteelI had my metal roof installed by American Metal Roofs nearly 4 years ago. It still looks just as beautiful as the day the crew got done installing it! It's been through several thunderstorms, high winds , hail storms and winter ice and snow. Came through with no damage and no leaks at all. I especially like it in the winter time when all the ice and snow slides off once it starts building up. No snow load here! It was a great experience working with the sales representative showing me all the parts and pieces that make up a complete metal roof and then the crew that came out and installed my metal roof. I fully recommend American Metal Roofs!👍
Nov 21, 2024 · Hoyt S.Love my metal shingle roof. It enhances my lakeside home so well. Limb fell on garage thid summer and repairs by American Metals was spot on.
Nov 23, 2024 · Francine JenningsAmerican Metal Roof is a great company, they are professional and personable. My roof looks awesome, it completely changes the look of the house. During installation our salesmen stoped in to check on the workers and the work. The workers cleaned up everyday and when they were finished installing they spent time combing the area around the house making sure they had picked up all nails and pieces of metal. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to install a new roof.
