This article aims to provide an informative overview of Armstrong Foam Roofing San Francisco Bay Area, a contractor located in Emeryville, California, to help users learn more about their presence and offerings in the region.

While this overview will cover the general aspects of Armstrong Foam Roofing, it is always recommended for California residents to conduct thorough due diligence and consider multiple options before engaging any service provider. This approach ensures that you select a contractor that best aligns with your specific requirements and expectations for quality and service longevity in the unique California environment.
This article will detail Armstrong Foam Roofing San Francisco Bay Area's location, their accessible contact information, and general types of services one might expect from a company specializing in foam roofing. Given the critical nature of roofing work, gathering comprehensive information from various sources is a prudent step for any homeowner or business owner in California.
Armstrong Foam Roofing San Francisco Bay Area is located at 4575 CA-123, Emeryville, CA 94608, USA. This address places the company within Emeryville, a city strategically situated in Alameda County, immediately adjacent to Oakland and Berkeley. This location in the East Bay provides a central point from which to serve the broader San Francisco Bay Area, making it reasonably accessible for residents and businesses across the region.
Emeryville's proximity to major transportation arteries, including Interstate 80, Interstate 580, and State Route 13, facilitates access to various parts of the Bay Area. This connectivity allows Armstrong Foam Roofing to reach clients in cities such as San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond, and other surrounding communities. The address on CA-123 (which is also known as San Pablo Avenue in parts of Emeryville and Berkeley) is typically easy to locate within the commercial landscape of the area.
For California locals, a contractor based in the Bay Area suggests familiarity with the regional climate challenges, specific building codes, and common architectural styles found throughout the various cities. This local presence is often a consideration for property owners when seeking services that understand the nuances of the area's environment. While the address provides geographical context, potential clients are encouraged to utilize the provided contact information for direct inquiries regarding service areas and scheduling.
While specific details on all services offered by Armstrong Foam Roofing San Francisco Bay Area beyond foam roofing are not extensively available in public data, their name indicates a specialization in foam roofing solutions. Generally, companies specializing in this area typically offer a range of services related to the application and maintenance of spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing systems for both residential and commercial properties.
Foam Roof Installation: This would involve the application of spray polyurethane foam directly onto an existing roof or new decking. SPF creates a seamless, monolithic, and self-flashing roofing system that is known for its insulating properties and durability. This process typically includes preparation of the roof surface, application of the foam, and then a protective elastomeric coating.
Foam Roof Repair: Despite the seamless nature of foam roofs, issues can arise over time due to wear, impact damage, or improper installation. Repairs often involve patching damaged areas with new foam and re-coating. Proper repair aims to maintain the roof's integrity and prevent leaks.
Foam Roof Maintenance and Re-coating: To extend the life of an SPF roof, periodic maintenance and re-coating are essential. The elastomeric topcoat, which protects the foam from UV radiation, requires reapplication every 5-10 years, depending on the coating type and environmental exposure. This maintenance helps prevent issues like water pooling and moss growth by ensuring the protective layer remains intact and properly sloped for drainage.
Insulation Enhancement: A key benefit of foam roofing is its high R-value, meaning it provides excellent thermal insulation. Contractors specializing in foam roofing often highlight this benefit, as it can lead to significant energy savings for property owners in California, reducing heating and cooling costs.
Leak Detection and Prevention: Given the seamless nature of foam, pinpointing leaks can sometimes be challenging if not properly installed or maintained. A foam roofing specialist should be proficient in identifying the source of leaks and implementing targeted solutions to ensure the roof remains watertight.
Residential and Commercial Applications: Foam roofing is suitable for a wide range of structures, from residential homes with flat or low-slope roofs to large commercial and industrial buildings. A specialized contractor would typically serve both sectors, adapting their techniques to the specific scale and requirements of each project.
When considering any roofing contractor, especially one specializing in a particular material like foam roofing, it's important for California property owners to be aware of various aspects of their service and reputation. Based on the provided customer feedback, certain points may be highlighted for consideration.
Specialization in Foam Roofing: As their name suggests, Armstrong Foam Roofing San Francisco Bay Area specializes in foam roofing solutions. This specialization implies a concentrated expertise in the application, repair, and maintenance of spray polyurethane foam (SPF) roofing systems. Property owners specifically seeking this type of roofing material might consider a contractor with this focused expertise.
Local Presence in Emeryville, CA: Being located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area allows for a local service presence for clients within the region. This proximity can be beneficial for scheduling and understanding local building requirements.
Customer Feedback: It is important to acknowledge that some customers have reported concerns regarding installation quality and warranty coverage. Specific feedback mentions issues such as:
Water Pooling and Drainage Issues: Reports indicate instances of water pooling on the roof surface, which can lead to accelerated degradation and issues like moss growth and leaks. Proper installation of a foam roof should ensure adequate drainage.
Moss and Mold Growth: Due to pooling water, customers have experienced excessive moss and mold growth, requiring significant personal effort for removal. A well-installed system should minimize conditions conducive to such growth.
Perceived Lack of Accountability: Some customers have expressed disappointment with the company's response to warranty claims, stating that certain issues were deemed "not covered" and attributed to normal wear or maintenance needs like pressure washing, even for problems arising relatively soon after installation.
Long-Term Performance Concerns: Reports suggest roofs starting to leak after a relatively short period (e.g., 7 years), raising questions about the long-term durability and efficacy of the initial installation as experienced by these customers.
Focus on Specific Roofing Material: For property owners specifically interested in the thermal efficiency and seamless nature of foam roofing, a specialist can offer insights into the material's benefits. However, it is always advisable to compare different roofing types and contractors.

Armstrong Foam Roofing San Francisco Bay Area Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1They did a sloppy job on my roof. Lots of dips, thus lots of water pooling. They used gravel to fill in the dips which gathered dirt and mold. Not a good situation. The roof started leaking after only 7 years. Hopefully you will have a better experience.
May 07, 2025 · Mabel LeeWe hired Armstrong Co to update our roof with foam material in 2019, and unfortunately, we are now dealing with serious issues due to their poor installation. Our home insurance provider has refused to renew our policy because of pooling water on the roof, which has led to excessive moss growth and leaks inside our home. When we contacted Armstrong about the issue, they claimed it was not covered under their warranty and told us to hire someone to pressure wash the roof—saying this was “normal.” This past weekend, we personally removed 10 pounds of moss from the roof, which should not be necessary on a properly installed system.A well-installed roof should not have pooling water, nor should it require frequent pressure washing to function properly. We are extremely disappointed with Armstrong’s lack of accountability and would not recommend them to anyone looking for a reliable roofing company.
Mar 04, 2025 · Estrella CagadocMy father just contracted with this company. Incredible company. They thoroughly assessed what needed to be done, made their suggestions and gave us a bid on the spot. Very friendly and helpful workers and superb workmanship. Couldn't have asked for better!
May 24, 2025 · Tasha BeauchampLike many others who have left negative reviews about Armstrong, we’ve unfortunately had a similar experience. Our insurance company identified pooling on the roof due to improper installation and materials that fail to provide adequate drainage—an issue that could lead to serious damage over time. When we reached out to Armstrong’s support team, we were met with rudeness and dismissive responses, including their claim that "pooling is a normal occurrence." Since then, they have repeatedly ignored our calls and have been completely unresponsive to our attempts at communication. If you’re looking for a company that stands behind its work and values customer service, look elsewhere. Armstrong has shown a lack of accountability and professionalism that we wouldn’t want anyone else to deal with.
Mar 04, 2025 · Dalmacio Rojo CagadocAs a fellow contractor, ARMSTRONG foam roofing has proved to be very professional and easy to work with. You won’t be disappointed by choosing such excellent service, skilled tradesmen, installers and extremely high-quality products.
