If I could give zero stars I would. Company took our deposit and completed less than 20% of the work contracted for. Claimed that they sent a refund at the end of December and then again with the BBB in early February. Have never received a check from them.Don't know what you are talking about - we paid a deposit and your company did less than 20% of the work. I have the canceled check - would be happy to share with you. Would also appreciate you reaching out in person so we can get this resolved. - Tina Takacs

Brink Roofing Introduce

Hello, Pennsylvania residents! For homeowners and business owners in the Erie region, a sturdy and reliable roof is your first and most critical line of defense against our unique and often challenging weather. From the freezing conditions of our long winters to the intense rainfall and winds of summer storms, a well-maintained roof is essential for protecting your property. When it comes time for a repair or a complete replacement, finding a trustworthy contractor is a crucial step. This article is designed to provide you with a clear and informative overview of Brink Roofing, a company that has a presence in the local Erie, PA community. We will explore their location, the services they reportedly offer, and key features based on publicly available information and customer reviews. Our goal is to present a factual perspective to help you, as a local user, make an informed decision about your next roofing project. It is always a good practice to conduct your own thorough research and speak with the company directly, and to be cautious and meticulous with all aspects of a contract.

In the world of home services, a company’s reputation is often defined by a combination of the quality of their work and their business practices. The provided customer reviews for Brink Roofing present a very mixed and challenging picture. One review expresses extreme frustration, alleging that the company took a deposit but completed very little of the work, and failed to issue a promised refund. Another review details a long-standing issue with leaks and a claim that the wrong material was installed, leading to repeated problems and a lack of follow-up from the company. The reviews suggest a significant disparity between the company's business promises and their follow-through, raising serious concerns about their reliability, communication, and adherence to contracts and warranties. As locals, we rely on honest and transparent businesses, and this information is crucial for any Pennsylvanian considering a roofing contractor. This article will present this information directly to give you a factual and balanced view of the company's reported operations and customer experiences.

Brink Roofing is a local business based at 5440 Buffalo Rd, Erie, PA 16510, USA. This address places them directly in Erie, Pennsylvania, a strategic location that allows them to serve not only the immediate Erie community but also the broader Erie County region. Being a local contractor is a significant advantage in many ways, as it means they are likely familiar with the specific building codes, weather patterns, and architectural styles that are common in our area. Their location on Buffalo Road provides them with a physical presence in the community, and their business is registered with the Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractors (HIC) license number PA184191. For Erie residents, working with a local company can often provide a sense of stability and accountability, though as the reviews suggest, this is not always a guarantee of a positive experience. The fact that a customer who felt wronged was able to reach out to the BBB indicates that the company is a registered entity that can be contacted and held accountable through official channels, a critical piece of information for any resident.

The accessibility of a local contractor is a key benefit, as it can lead to faster response times for urgent issues and simpler communication throughout the project. The company's website and online schedulers mention a 24-hour service for emergency repairs, which is a valuable feature for dealing with unexpected damage. However, the customer reviews raise serious questions about how this accessibility translates into actual service and follow-through. The review about the unfulfilled refund and the other about the ongoing leaks suggest that communication and resolution of issues may be a challenge. Despite these concerns, their physical presence in Erie does provide a tangible point of contact for local residents. A local company often has a vested interest in maintaining a good reputation within the community, which should ideally translate into excellent service. This information, both positive and negative, is crucial for customers to consider when evaluating a contractor for their roofing needs.

Based on their website and other public sources, Brink Roofing reportedly offers a wide variety of services that cater to the exterior needs of homes and businesses in the Erie area. Their service offerings reportedly include:

  • Roof Repairs and Replacements: As a roofing contractor, this is a core part of their business. They reportedly handle both full roof replacements and targeted repairs. However, a customer review about a leak that persisted for two years after a new roof was installed raises concerns about the quality and longevity of their work.
  • Roof Cleaning and Maintenance: Brink Roofing's website explicitly mentions roof cleaning services, including the removal of moss, algae, and stains. This is a valuable service for homeowners looking to maintain their roof's appearance and extend its life.
  • Gutter Services: They reportedly offer services for gutters, including cleaning and the installation of seamless gutters and gutter protection systems. This is a key part of protecting a home's foundation from water damage, especially in our climate.
  • Chimney and Skylight Services: Their services also reportedly extend to related areas such as chimneys and skylights. This suggests they can handle a variety of roof-related projects, making them a potential one-stop-shop for many customers.
  • Emergency Services: The company's website mentions a 24-hour emergency repair service, which is a critical feature for homeowners who experience unexpected damage from a storm. This service can involve temporary fixes like installing a tarp to prevent further water damage.

These services showcase a business that is positioned to handle a wide range of exterior home maintenance and improvement projects, though the customer reviews point to potential issues with the execution of these services.

Based on the provided customer feedback, there are several key features and highlights associated with Brink Roofing, though they are presented in a negative and cautionary light:

  • Questionable Business Practices: One review alleges that the company took a deposit but did not complete the contracted work, and then failed to issue a refund. This raises serious concerns about their business ethics and financial practices.
  • Poor Warranty Fulfillment: Another review details a situation where a new roof reportedly leaked multiple times, and the company was slow or failed to respond, eventually blaming the customer and then admitting the wrong material was installed. This suggests significant issues with honoring their warranty and providing long-term customer support.
  • Unreliable Communication: The reviews imply a lack of consistent communication, with one customer stating they received no follow-up for months and another having to repeatedly call to get a response. This can be a major source of stress and frustration for clients.
  • Potential for Substandard Workmanship: While a company website might claim to use "premium roofing materials," the review about the wrong material being installed and the persistent leaks suggests a potential for errors in craftsmanship or material selection.
  • Inconsistencies in Problem Resolution: The conflicting statements in the reviews, where the company claims to have sent a refund while the customer maintains they never received it, highlights a breakdown in their internal processes and customer service.

These features, while framed as negative highlights, are essential public data that prospective clients must consider before hiring this company. The positive reviews found online from other sources should be weighed against these negative experiences to form a complete picture.

For those in the Pennsylvania region, particularly in Erie, who would like to contact Brink Roofing, here is the public contact information:

  • Address: 5440 Buffalo Rd, Erie, PA 16510, USA
  • Phone: (814) 898-4663

It is strongly recommended that any prospective client use this information to contact the company directly, verify their current availability, and discuss their specific project needs. In light of the reviews, it is also highly advised to get all agreements, including payment schedules and warranty details, in writing and to keep meticulous records of all communications.

In conclusion, for residents and business owners in Pennsylvania, especially in the Erie region, Brink Roofing is a local option for a wide variety of roofing and exterior services. Their location in Erie provides the convenience of a nearby contractor, and their business is registered, which adds a layer of accountability. However, the available public feedback raises significant and serious concerns about their professionalism, communication, and commitment to their contracts and warranties. The reviews highlight potential issues with taking deposits for uncompleted work, failing to resolve long-standing problems, and a lack of follow-through. This information is critical for any local considering this company. While their website and other sources may paint a different picture, these customer experiences serve as a crucial reminder to exercise extreme caution, to conduct thorough research, to ask for references, and to ensure all aspects of a project are documented in a clear and binding contract before proceeding. Ultimately, for those in Erie, choosing a contractor for a major home project requires a careful consideration of both their claimed skills and their proven business practices, and these reviews suggest that the latter is a serious point of concern for Brink Roofing.
