★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My advice, put your time, money & efforts into another company who has better business practices & appreciates YOU as their customer.Contract vague with no product details on materials. Roof shingle stated Conway would furnish & supply 1 of 3 options although we agreed on specific brand/color to match soffit/fascia they would be installing. Soffit/fascia was listed with price however brand agreed with specifics on color, thickness gauge, closed versus vented using Plygem’s midrange product was not.To confirm verbal agreement of correct products to be ordered & installed, was expecting & ultimately paying, I signed contract, on bottom wrote, “Note: see additional paperwork provided … by homeowner” & provided additional typed paperwork detailing specifics. Office accepted deposit checks, signed acceptance of contract & additional clarifying paperwork. Two weeks later, Conway says mistake in contract, will email new to sign. New contract same as old with exception, “Note: see additional paperwork provided … by homeowner” was taken off. Not understanding omitting product details agreed but knowing important, I signed second contract writing same notation again & to double make sure correct product details were understood, I added them directly on contract resubmitting personally at office. Office signed my copies of paperwork in acknowledgement confirming subsequent follow up email all the products & details were understood.Over 3 months later, Conway confirms all project materials in, reroof to start with soffit/fascia right afterwards. Problems with roofing job:1) hurricane clips: not all installed, what was some missing nails which defeats purpose of ties to help hold carport/porch roof integrity in major weather/wind event.2) corner transition fascia board cracked/separated3) some rotten beam ends replaced; others left (job consisted replacing entire carport/porch decking & any rotten beams in addition to new roof)4) fascia board along front of house 2” thick, rest of house including carport & porch 1” standard and others...Note: During 2 week period, workers left cigarette butts, trash & roofing nails scattered around property even after bringing to the owners attention right away – so disrespectful :(After roof job, told soffit/fascia materials actually not in, I tell them I’ll wait, then told problem is forgot to order, I say disappointed but order & I’ll wait, then told materials agreed wasn’t correct/not available. I reached out to manufacturer who said all contracted choices are available - no problem where I relay to Conway. From this point, Conway becomes ‘unpleasant’ refusing to finish remainder of contracted services, insisting to pay remainder for roof part only, threaten attorney, sue, place Lien on property. I contacted other soffit/fascia people however cost all these months later much higher (double) to have them do versus contracted Conway price. Note: other companies mentioned 2” front of house fascia board Conway installed versus standard 1” around rest of house is problematic to applying the aluminum thus adds higher cost to accommodate. Maybe Conway using scrap material from another job?Not wanting to pay more for soffit/fascia than agreed & contracted with Conway, told Conway I did not want another company to do but wanted them to finish what was promised, what was contracted. Conway sends Certified letter intend to place Lien on property if don’t pay. This is good news as once they file the Lien, I will file Notice of Contest of Lien. This would give Conway up to 60 days to officially file a Lawsuit and in doing so, require them to provide proof – in essence, why they are right in the matter & I’m wrong. I waited where they never filed Lien & Conway did not contact me for further payment, why? Because Conway knew they were wrong & would not hold up in court. I would have gladly paid on the remainder of the contract providing they did the remaining work. Problems can arise in any project but how company manages it tells you a lot. Conway failed miserably.
Feb 22, 2024 · G KResponse to Conway Roofing, for transparency see photo copies below:1) Email between Conway office, Jay (Head Roofer/President) and employee discussing aluminum soffit/fascia job contracted2) 1st Contract (3/18): with no specific product details, added notation at bottom Homeowner provided written addendum specifying these where employee acknowledged receiving3) 2nd Contract (4/06): as Conway sent same contract as above but took notation off that tied additional paperwork with product details to contract, I added the info on this 2nd Contract. Employee acknowledged receiving4) You have misrepresented DBPR. Their letter states can’t become involved because, “Contract disputes involving scope of contract terms …. are civil issues not within jurisdiction of the department (DBPR)”. They go on to say, “… we urge you to consult an attorney regarding your potential remedies in the civil courts.”5) New 1” standard boards Conway did install on entire house except using non-standard 2” along front. Two independent companies remarked 2” is not standard, where would cost more to adapt aluminum to as a resultThe terrible attitude is on Conway and comments, "PAY YOUR BILLS" and "stop ripping people off" eluding to me ripping Conway off is unwarranted and unjustified. I was the consumer simply wanting Conway to follow through with Contracted Services promised. Many emails (I have MANY) stated I had no problem paying remainder of contract if Conway finished remainder of contracted services. Conway made the choice to walk away from the project, to refuse to follow through with contract. I saw Conway commented in previous reviews working through some inner company problems where it would seem these attributed to my experience. My hope here they are resolved so another consumer doesn’t have the same bad experience.
Jun 24, 2024 · g kkConway Roofing are true to their word. I had an issue with my roof twice, and they sent a crew twice to fix it. When Hunter Conway ( in charge of the repair crew) came out to see what my issue was , he made sure that my concerns were corrected! I would and will recommend them !!
Aug 15, 2024 · Deb OSullivanConway installed my roof 13 years ago with 30-year warranted shingles. I had no problems with their work then. Recently there have been shingle fragments on the ground. I have called the company four times to have the roof inspected. After six weeks, despite promises, I have not even received a return phone call. With so many companies to choose from, why would anyone hire Conway.
Nov 16, 2023 · Anton RaffConway roofing replaced our entire cement tile roof after Hurricane Ian. The job was done professionally and at a very fair price. The owner, Mike stayed involved with the job until it was fully completed. I would definitely use them again, and I highly recommend them.
