G & W Enterprises Introduce
For homeowners in South Carolina, the process of selecting a contractor for any home improvement project is a significant decision. The success of a project, whether it's a major renovation or a smaller installation, depends heavily on the contractor's professionalism, quality of work, and commitment to customer satisfaction. This article aims to provide a clear and factual overview of G & W Enterprises, a contractor based in Cayce, South Carolina. It is based on publicly available data, including a direct and highly critical customer review, to help local users make a well-informed decision about who they choose to work on their home. This information is presented to be transparent and helpful, allowing residents to weigh the pros and cons based on real-world experiences shared by others in the community.
G & W Enterprises is a business located in Cayce, SC, that, based on the provided customer feedback, performs a variety of home improvement tasks. The customer review, however, is a strong and unambiguous warning to potential clients. It describes an experience with an awning installation that led to repeated failures and a complete breakdown of communication. The review states that after the awning "stopped working properly, it took over a month for them to come out and look at it." The customer then reports that the company "blamed me saying I left it open on a windy day but I didn’t." Following this, the company "refused to fix it," leading the customer to hire a different professional. This third-party contractor allegedly discovered that the awning was "installed wrong to start with." This account raises severe concerns about the company's workmanship, accountability, and customer service. The review ends with a direct and strong recommendation to "not recommend these people to walk my dog much less do any work on my home." This feedback is a critical piece of information that potential customers should take into consideration, as it suggests a significant disconnect between the company's claimed professionalism and its actual performance and customer interaction.
The company's address is listed as 1926 Gantt St, Cayce, SC 29033, USA. This location places G & W Enterprises firmly within the Cayce community, making them geographically accessible to local residents. Being a local business can be a strong point for a contractor, as it often suggests a familiarity with the region's climate, building codes, and community standards. However, the provided customer review indicates that this local presence does not guarantee a high level of service or reliability. The reported lack of responsiveness—taking "over a month" to even look at a problem—suggests that physical proximity does not translate into timely customer care. While the address provides a point of contact for potential clients, the negative feedback is a vital counterpoint that must be considered. For locals, the convenience of a nearby contractor can be a deciding factor, but the potential for a negative experience as described in the review is a significant risk that must be carefully evaluated. The accessibility of their location should be weighed against the reported unreliability.
Based on the provided customer review, G & W Enterprises offers installation services for home features like awnings. The review also mentions the customer hiring a different roofer, which might imply the company also does roofing. However, the available data is limited to this specific incident and does not provide a comprehensive list of their services. The negative feedback focuses on the poor quality of the initial installation and the company's subsequent failure to address the problem. This suggests that while they may offer various home improvement services, there may be issues with the execution and follow-through of the work. The review also mentions that the company installed an awning, which is a specialized type of home improvement project. It is crucial for potential clients to inquire about the full range of services offered and to seek references for specific types of work before making a commitment. Given the nature of the review, it is highly recommended to seek a detailed, written contract and a clear warranty on any work performed.
- Awning Installation: A customer review confirms that they install awnings, with the review focusing on a specific instance of a faulty installation.
The key features and highlights of G & W Enterprises are, according to the provided customer review, entirely negative. This feedback serves as a critical warning to anyone considering using their services. The review's highlights are a direct reflection of a customer's experience, and they point to significant deficiencies in professionalism, communication, and workmanship. A professional contractor should be accountable for their work, responsive to customer concerns, and capable of performing installations correctly the first time. The provided review indicates a failure on all these fronts. The customer's decision to hire another professional to fix the original installation, and the discovery of a fundamental error, is a severe indictment of the company's quality control. The unresponsiveness and blaming of the customer are also major red flags that signal a poor customer service experience. These are not just minor complaints; they represent a complete breakdown of trust and professional obligation. These "highlights" are therefore crucial information for any local resident to consider, as they speak to a potential pattern of behavior that could impact the outcome of their own home improvement project.
- Poor Workmanship: The review states that a third-party professional found the awning was "installed wrong to start with," leading to its failure.
- Unresponsiveness: A major point of concern is that it took "over a month" for the company to respond, and they subsequently "refused to fix it."
- Unprofessional Conduct: The customer was blamed for the issue, and the company refused to stand by their work or a potential warranty.
- Strong Negative Recommendation: The review ends with a very strong warning to "not recommend these people" for any kind of work.

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with!!! I had a awning installed a few years ago and when it stopped working properly, it took over a month for them to come out and look at it. Then they blamed me saying I left it open on a windy day but I didn’t. Then they refused to fix it so I hired someone else to fix it and guess what???? They installed it wrong to start with. I would not recommend these people to walk my dog much less do any work on my home !!!
