Gutter Guards America Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Terrible experience. GGA markets themselves as a premium company with excellent customer service. This is simply not true. We hired Gutter Guards America to install gutters and gutter guards. We paid a premium for their product (compared to similar companies) as we believed our salesman's promises that Gutter Guards are worth the extra cost. Long story short: They're not. Don't use this company! For added reference, our salesman (Matthew Jacobs) went into detail about how the Gutter Guards would be installed at the same angle as our roof. He explained that this is one of several features that keeps leaves from collecting on top of the gutters and up the roof. When the gutters were installed, the angle was not the same as the roof. As the attached photo shows, the guards were installed nearly horizontally while the roof comes down at a steeper angle. I immediately called our salesman who referred me to his boss (Mike). Mike promised that the gutters were installed correctly and leaves would not collect. He also promised the company would make it right should there be an issue with leaves collecting. I naively believed him and paid for the work.Fast forward to the end of fall. Leaves indeed collected on top of our gutters and were laying 18-24" up on the roof. Even after several windy days, the leaves would not blow off. (I ended up climbing up on a ladder with a leaf blower to remove them.) This is not an issue of appearances but rather an issue that the leaves are holding water right against the roof shingles for an extended period of time.I called Mike to explain what happened. He tried to tell me the gutters were installed "per company policy." I reminded him what his salesman had told us about the angle of the guards. He said that salesman should never have said that and he is no longer employed by the company. Nevertheless, Gutter Guards America is still insisting that they "followed company policy" even though the salesman was selling customers something different.Update: I am updating this review and rating based on the fact that Mike and a crew came out and lowered the gutters and changed the angle of the guards to better match the pitch of the roof. It is currently December so there are no leaves out, but I anticipate this fix should make a big difference come next leaf season.
Dec 20, 2024 · David DialJUST DON'T!0/10 would not recommend. The "manufacturer's no clog money back guarantee" is a lie. When I requested my money back, I was told that the "no clog" only applies to the pipes and not the gutter guards. So anything that clogs the gutter guards (but not the pipes beneath the guards) is the consumers problem, not the manufacturer's.So basically, you're better off removing the gutters entirely than having these installed. Salesman might be nice and give a discount but installers are 100% SLAP DASH. Gaps between every panel. They hammered in the ends of my gutters to try and close the GAPS at the ends. Came back to “fix it” and just screwed extra mesh overlapping the gaps. Left screws and hardware and metal trimming on my roof lawn and driveway. Really poor job done. Rain is now pouring over the edge of my gutter and down my soffits. 0/10 would not recommend.
Apr 30, 2024 · Reed McKenzieThe salesperson was very respectful and polite. She was very willing to give us a discount because of her late arrival. When the workers came they greeted me politely. The work didn't take very long at all. Not as long as I thought it would. I inspected the job afterwards and it looks perfect. Oh I forgot to tell you., we got new gutters and downspouts. So as to whether they work or not we'll see the first time it rains. Overall I'm very satisfied.
Jan 22, 2025 · Sally LampleyI received quotes from three major gutter companies for gutter installation only. Nick drove three hours to look at my house and give me a quote. After telling him the lowest quote I had received, he called his manager and got the price lower by about $100. I accepted Nick’s offer and the gutters were installed the next day. This was a low pressure and great experience with GGA. I highly recommend them.
Jan 29, 2025 · Keith W(READ THE BAD REVIEWS FIRST) pay attention to the timing that the reviews were left. After agreeing to give me a refund, that never showed up after 2 weeks. I contacted Jason who contacted me after the first review. It turns out he was bending over backwards (as he put it) to coax me to lie in my review and let them do the job... so the truth is with no work done they have committed fraud and refuse to refund my money. I have all the original information plus texts and voicemails confirming the amount of trouble they have caused through this whole process. So let me give some insight. if you are having trouble getting to the property (twice mind you). I think that pretty much means the contract YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO SHOW UP FOR is void. Mean while they're in the back ground saying, hey you should let us do the job ..we have been bending over backwards for this job...WHAT??? So in turn I will promote the contractor that did the job the next day... showed up on time and.... it took them less than 5 hours total for all they did.... AT MORE THAN HALF THE PRICE OF WHAT THESE GUYS WERE TRYING TO CHARGE.Notice a good bit of the reviews below were all left around the same time. My guess is, they're fake! Family members of employees or friends to build a fake reputation..I will post a photo of my awesome receipt from the contractors who took good care of me under this review. They deserve the credit for their honesty and good work for the best price...Let me be clear to the owner who responded after the first review. While I understand your defensiveness, It seemed like you missed the importance of your customers wanting your business in the first place. Your reply was a big part of me deciding to find someone else. And I'm glad I did. It was definitely the right decision... Jason welcomed this review update by text. And giving a review is in no way holding this company hostage as Jason put it.... it's my experience at this point for this company.Whew... I'll bet you guys at gutter guards are wore out trying to process this.... you sure missed a good bit of the info in the review before these updates had to be left.08/05/2024These guys don't know left from right. The initial estimate meeting seemed fine at first but the quote I got turns out was not for what I wanted done.... that one stumps me! I didn't mind helping the guy measure the amount of feet it would take to get the job done. But why would we take those measurements if that's not what he's going to give me an estimate for?So the price he gave me was high for the estimate which I thought was for the measurements we took...... and we scheduled a day for them to come do the work....(no show). Apparently their truck broke down. So they called to reschedule almost 5 days later( I should also mention that I had talked to the guy that did the estimate and told him that timing was a bit important.) that I work in the evenings and that I had to go on a business trip in a week or so, I would like it done beforehand and I didn't want anything to mess with the timing of that trip for business and what I needed to do to prepare for the trip. Timing was starting to agitate me with the first no show.So the second appointed date shows up and they're two hours late upon arriving. I thought they were just a no-show again, I already had started getting ready for work. They didn't even know the job they were sent to do when they got here.. as in what I told the estimate guy I wanted and initially what I thought the quote was for. What a waste of my time and the guys who drove more than 2 hour to get here and no work is still done for the job I asked to get done. The guy scheduling appointments just seemed clueless most of the time. Lots of problems all the way around. so I'll have to take the time to find someone else tomorrow when I should be focusing on my trip and probably have it done when I get back.
