For Massachusetts homeowners, a reliable roof is not just a part of the house; it’s a crucial shield against the state’s notoriously harsh weather. From heavy snowfalls and ice dams in the winter to humid summers and powerful Nor'easters, a home's roof endures a lot. When it’s time for a repair or a full replacement, finding a contractor who is not only skilled but also honest and trustworthy can feel like a search for a needle in a haystack. This is especially true in a place like Berkshire County, where homes often have a rich history and unique roofing needs. In this region, David Kittler has established himself and his team as a go-to choice for homeowners seeking quality workmanship and a professional, no-nonsense approach to roofing.
David Kittler, along with his wife Tracy and their long-time team member Jim, operates a small family business based out of Adams, Massachusetts. Their approach is simple yet highly effective: work smarter, not harder, and focus on delivering excellent results. This ethos is reflected in the glowing reviews from their customers. One satisfied homeowner, who hired the Kittlers to redo their porch roof, noted that despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and a brutally hot summer, the team was able to provide "one of the better estimates out there" and deliver a fantastic job. The reviewer was so impressed that they planned to have the team back "down the road" for a slate repair on the main roof of their 100-plus-year-old home. This trust, built on a foundation of solid work, is the hallmark of a great local contractor.
The company’s reputation is built largely on word-of-mouth recommendations, a powerful testament to the satisfaction of their clients. While a customer found them on the internet, they were told that this is how they get most of their business. This organic growth speaks volumes about the quality of their work and the positive experiences they provide. The team’s professionalism is evident in their meticulous attention to detail. Roofing can be a messy job, but David Kittler and his crew take great care to ensure a clean worksite. This commitment to a tidy and safe environment is highly valued by homeowners.
Beyond the shingle work, the company’s expertise extends to more specialized areas like slate roofing, which is particularly relevant for the many historic homes in Massachusetts. The ability to handle both modern architectural shingles, such as the lovely Owens Corning shingles mentioned by a customer, and traditional slate repair shows a deep and versatile knowledge of the craft. For locals, this means they don't have to hire multiple contractors for different roofing needs. Kittler David Reviews
We have recently used David Kittler to re-do our porch roof.Dave, his wife Tracy, and their right-hand man Jim of 20 plus years know how to do a roof. These are the days of covid 19, so we were all a bit behind trying to stay healthy. It took a while for everything to come together, as nobody knew what was going on.The Kittler’s gave us one of the better estimates out there. The summer of 2020 was one of the hottest summers we can remember, with temperatures daily in the high 80’s and into the ’90s. The humidity was beyond brutal. David, Tracy, and Jim work smarter not harder. I was told David has been doing roofing his whole life. The roof on our home was in ok shape, but it was time. My wife and I picked outsome lovely looking Owens Corning Architectural shingles for our 100 plus year-old home. We also have a rental that the roof was a mess. The previous owner/landlord just did everything, as a cover-up cobjob. You never really know what you are getting when you purchase a property. We had several rainy days, but any day rain was predicted they made sure that everything was covered fully before they left.Communication was very good. They are a small family business out of Adams Massachusetts, and I would highly recommend them for any roofing job. They do slate too, and we will have them back down the road, for slate repair on the main roof. I was told that they go mostly by word of mouth. I found them on the internet. I wanted to help clean up a bit, but they did not need any help. Roofing is not a clean job and not everyone that claims they can do it right. If a nail was dropped, it was picked up ASAP. We should be good for a long time to come. Plus, the warranty’s now on shingles are incredible.Do your homework, make the calls for estimates.
