Palmer Construction Introduce
For Michigan residents, a home’s exterior is constantly put to the test by the state's challenging weather. From the freezing conditions of winter to the severe storms of summer, a durable and well-maintained roof, siding, and other exterior components are crucial for a home’s protection and longevity. When it’s time for a repair, a renovation, or a new installation, homeowners need to partner with a contractor who is not only experienced but also reliable and stands behind their work. Based in Lansing, Michigan, Palmer Construction is a company that has been a part of the local home improvement scene since 1997, focusing on a variety of residential exterior and restoration projects.
Palmer Construction is a family-owned business that has served the greater Lansing area for decades. The company's mission, as stated on their profile, is to focus on quality installations and value for the customer. They strive to be a positive force in the residential construction industry, recognizing their own failures and committing to making improvements to better serve their clients. Their services range from roofing and siding installation to deck building and remodeling, offering a wide array of solutions for homeowners looking to improve their property.
However, the experience of a contractor can be complex and varied, as seen in some customer feedback. One homeowner described a negative experience with a roofing repair, where new leaks appeared after the work was done. The customer claims that despite having documented proof that these leaks were new, the company insisted they were pre-existing and would not fix the new issues without an additional charge. Another customer’s review focused on issues with a door installation, where mistakes in workmanship were not rectified. These experiences, which contrast with other positive reviews the company has received for other services, highlight the importance of thorough communication and a clear understanding of project scopes and warranties. The company’s history with clients and its commitment to rectifying issues are factors that any potential customer should consider before hiring a contractor.
Palmer Construction is located at 3120 Pine Tree Rd, Lansing, MI 48911, USA. This central location in the state's capital allows them to serve a wide range of communities in the Mid-Michigan region, including areas like East Lansing, Okemos, Haslett, Holt, and DeWitt. Being based locally means they are familiar with the specific architectural styles and common building challenges faced by homes in the area. This local knowledge is an important asset when it comes to selecting the right materials and methods for a project.
The physical presence of the company in Lansing provides accessibility for clients who may wish to discuss their project in person. In a home services industry where trust is paramount, having a local, established business with a physical address can be reassuring. While some reviews have pointed out issues with responsiveness on certain projects, the company’s stated goal is to provide excellent service. It is essential for customers to engage in clear and consistent communication with any contractor, ensuring all details of the project, including potential issues and fixes, are well-documented and agreed upon from the start.
Palmer Construction offers a broad range of services, leveraging their experience in both new construction and renovation projects. Their services are designed to address various home improvement needs, both inside and out.

- Wide Range of Services: The company offers a comprehensive selection of home improvement and construction services, making them a potential one-stop shop for homeowners.
- Professional Presentation: Some customers have noted that the company provides a strong initial presentation and plan for a project.
- Long-Standing Presence: Having been in business since 1997, Palmer Construction has a long history in the Lansing area, which can indicate a degree of stability and experience.

In conclusion, for locals in Lansing, Michigan, and the surrounding areas, Palmer Construction presents itself as a contractor with a long history in the community and a broad range of services. While some customers have had positive experiences with projects like deck building and siding installation, other reviews highlight potential issues with certain types of projects and follow-up service. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I watched an employee build a two story deck at my neighbors and was impressed so I called them to fix a roofing issue. They put together a plan and started work. They ended up "fixing" an area that did not need to be fixed, and the work that they did on other parts of the roof began to leak. I now have leaks in places I did not have leaks before I hired Palmer. I attempted to have them come back and they stated that the leaks were already there ( I have documentation that the new leaks were not present before their work) and that I would have to pay them $7,400 for new repairs to the work that they "repaired". My neighbor then told me she loved her deck, but the roofing that they did resulted in another company having to repair their work. I do not recommend you hire this company for any roofing needs.
Oct 07, 2024 · Holly KTypical contractor: talks a great game but won’t fix their mistakes. See the pictures. Is this how a brand new $5000 door should look after 18 months? The touch-up paint clearly doesn’t match and was only needed because of their careless workmanship when they touched up the trim and got white paint on the factory painted green door. The peeling white paint is also their fault. The installer insisted that the seam at the threshold didn’t need caulking (I asked him why he wasn’t doing it) because that is not real wood (it isn’t), but the water wicked up behind the paint anyway and caused the peeling. The door was manufactured by Therma-tru, who confirmed that caulking this area is in their specs. It gets better. Therma-tru doesn’t manufacture the door frame. Palmer quoted us a door assembled by Seal-Rite. But, Palmer turned around and used Lumbermen’s (who won’t return my calls), which I had to find out from Seal-Rite. Either way, we paid Palmer for a door and this is what we got, and after countless calls to Palmer, Therma-tru, Seal-Rite and Lumbermen’s, still have. Not acceptable in my opinion. And the thing is, these aren't monumental mistakes - they're easy fixes. They just won't!
Sep 29, 2019 · D WalkerI'm not the most well-versed in attic insulation and mold remediation, fortunately I could trust this company 100%!! Dale, the job boss, oversaw the whole project, asked my opinion on how it went, explained everything to me, and came to inspect everything at the completion of the work. I am grateful to my industrial hygienist, Jeff Rostoni for recommending Palmer to me! It's a jungle out there! especially if you don't really know how to scrutinize the proposals. VERY satisfied!!
May 08, 2024 · Anna FisherI honestly don’t know where to begin with our excellent experience with Palmer Construction. They have been absolutely amazing from the moment they showed up to our house for the initial bid. Luke was amazing! I was at work and my wife had to meet Palmer at our house. They told her they smelled a gas leak and when Consumer’s arrived and didn’t initially find the leak, the gentlemen from Palmer assisted us in helping Consumer’s find the gas leak! For someone who was at work and couldn’t be here to insure the safety of my house, this set the perfect tone to demonstrate the level of professionalism and care that Palmer Construction should be know for! They have been extremely helpful in their work. They have taken lunch at a time that allowed my daughter to nap, they clean up everyday before leaving, and they have been nothing but a pleasure to work with. Not to mention their work has been perfect! My house looks and feels completely different!!! I am already receiving compliments on the exterior and interior work they have done for us.I would give them 6/5 stars for going above and beyond the call of duty and insuring we are satisfied. I will be coming back to them first for all of our future home improvement needs. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not hiring this company to make your home better!Thank you Palmer Construction. The Johnson family will forever be a huge fan and customer!!!
Feb 16, 2019 · Ronnie JohnsonPalmer was a one-stop shop for my ..entire project: roof replacement, chimney repair, coordination with the rain gutter company. Their work was timely and painstaking, and I always felt well-educated about the process. They have an excellent team, courteous and highly efficient throughout, but a special shout out to Luke and Dale. On top of all that, their price was better than competitive. I'm very happy with the entire project, and would give them my highest recommendation.
