STAYDRY Introduce
In the diverse climate of Pennsylvania, where our homes face everything from heavy snow to intense thunderstorms, a durable and well-maintained roof is an absolute necessity. For homeowners in the Pittsburgh area, finding a reliable roofing contractor is a crucial step in protecting their most valuable asset. STAYDRY, a local company, has been a name in the roofing and exterior services industry, with a reputation that presents a dual narrative. On one hand, many customers have been highly impressed with the quality and efficiency of their initial work, praising the team for being professional and completing complex projects quickly. On the other hand, some feedback raises significant concerns about their post-installation service and communication, which is a vital aspect of any long-term home improvement investment. This article will provide a balanced, factual overview of STAYDRY, drawing on publicly available information and customer reviews to help local residents make an informed decision.
The importance of choosing the right roofing contractor cannot be overstated. A positive experience, as described by one customer, highlights a crew that went "above and beyond." This particular review notes the crew's reliability, punctuality, and the comprehensive nature of their work, which included replacing all rotting joists, new sheathing, and a full shingle replacement. The customer's experience with Paul was similarly positive, with the price and start date being "spot on." This kind of professional and reliable service is what homeowners hope for, demonstrating that STAYDRY has the capacity to deliver high-quality, efficient work that results in a fantastic new roof. This positive feedback showcases a company that is capable of providing expert craftsmanship and a commitment to completing a job thoroughly and on schedule.
However, another perspective from a different customer paints a starkly different picture. This individual had a roof repair completed two years prior and was unable to get a response from the company when a leak reappeared. Despite a 12-year guarantee and multiple attempts to contact Paul and the company, the calls and messages went unanswered. This experience highlights a critical issue: the gap between a company's initial service and its long-term accountability. For a homeowner, a warranty is only as good as the company that stands behind it. The frustration of being "ghosted" after a problem arises, especially when a repair was supposedly guaranteed, is a significant point of concern for potential customers. This feedback suggests a potential inconsistency in customer service and a lack of follow-through, which is a major factor to consider when entrusting a company with such a vital home project.
STAYDRY is located at 3821 Evergreen Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15214, USA. This location in the Ross Township area of Pittsburgh provides a strong local presence, making the company easily accessible to communities throughout the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. Being a local contractor is often a key factor for homeowners, as it suggests a familiarity with the regional climate and local building codes. This local hub allows the team to respond to project inquiries and service requests from surrounding neighborhoods with relative ease, a feature that is essential for a timely project commencement.
The accessibility of their location is a positive for residents in the North Hills and other suburbs, as it means they are part of the community they serve. However, as some customer reviews suggest, physical accessibility does not always equate to digital or phone responsiveness. While having a local office is a good sign of stability, the ability to effectively communicate with customers when issues arise is what truly matters. The location on Evergreen Road is a base for their operations, but the real measure of their accessibility lies in their communication practices. For a company that serves the broad Pittsburgh region, the ability to build trust through consistent and reliable communication is just as important as its physical location.
STAYDRY offers a variety of services related to roofing and exterior home improvements, designed to provide comprehensive solutions for homeowners.
- Roof Installation and Replacement: They specialize in full roof replacements, including the removal of old roofing materials, replacement of sheathing, and installation of new shingles. They have experience in ensuring that the underlying structure, such as joists, is sound before completing the new installation.
- Roof Repair: The company performs repairs for damaged or leaking roofs. They are equipped to handle issues that may arise from storm damage, age, or improper initial installation.
- Gutters and Siding: In addition to roofing, they offer other exterior services, which may include gutters and siding. This allows for a more cohesive and comprehensive approach to home exterior projects.
- Emergency Services: As a local company, they are equipped to handle emergency calls, such as those related to storm damage, to provide prompt inspections and necessary repairs.
Based on customer feedback and general industry practices, here are some key features and highlights of STAYDRY.
- Professional and Efficient Crew: Many customers have praised the company's crew for being professional, hard-working, and fast. The ability to complete a full roof replacement in a timely manner is a significant highlight for many homeowners.
- Comprehensive Work: In a positive review, the crew was noted for going "above and beyond" by replacing rotting joists and ensuring the structural integrity of the roof before installing new shingles. This thoroughness is a key indicator of quality work.
- Clear Communication (Initial Phase): For many customers, the initial communication, including pricing and scheduling, was clear and reliable. They appreciated the punctuality of the team and the ability to get a project started as promised.
- Warranty and Guarantees: The company offers guarantees on its work, with one customer mentioning a 12-year warranty on their repair. However, the value of this feature is entirely dependent on the company's ability to honor it, which has been a point of contention in some reviews.

For locals in the Pittsburgh, PA region, STAYDRY presents a mixed but important picture. The company clearly has the capability to deliver high-quality, efficient, and professional roofing work, as evidenced by a number of very positive reviews. Customers have been highly satisfied with the initial installation, the professionalism of the crew, and the quality of the finished product. This makes them a potentially suitable choice for those who are focused on a one-time, high-quality installation. However, the very serious concerns raised by other customers regarding a lack of responsiveness for follow-up service and warranty claims are a significant red flag. A warranty is meant to provide long-term security, and a company that cannot be reached to honor that commitment undermines the entire value of the service. Therefore, while STAYDRY may be a good option for some, local residents should carefully weigh the mixed feedback and consider their need for reliable post-service support before making a final decision. The contrast in customer experiences underscores the importance of due diligence and clear communication throughout the entire process.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Had my roof repaired 2 years ago, was to be checked in 2 years. Roof is leaking and called talk to Paul he said he would call me back, and went silent. Called 4 more times and never returned my calls. Will not recommend for your roofing needs. Guarantee for 12 years and here we are. Found a new roofer that did an awesome job, wish I would have known 2years ago.
Jun 05, 2024 · Nanette DrozdowskiWe were extremely happy and impressed with Paul and his crew. Went above and beyond. Very reliable, Paul came and gave us a price and a date to start. He was spot on. Crew of 4 guys andcompleted the whole roof, all new sheathing, replaced all rotting joist and made then on 18 inch centers instead of 24 that was there, and all new shingles. Highly recommend his business for any roofing projects
Jun 30, 2023 · Barbara AtkinsWe recently moved back to the Johnstown area to remodel our home and used Thumbtack to look for a roofing contractor. Paul, from Stay Dry Roofing, contacted me, which was a good thing because the initial contractor I was matched with never responded to any of my inquiries. During our initial conversation, Paul gave me an estimate (I assume he used GPS software to look at and measure the roof) and said he would drive out to talk in person. I didn’t expect him to do so because we are two hours away from his location. He told me he would be here around noon, he showed up at noon, wearing a mask, and we talked about the project. We talked about shingle specs, colors, his company, crew, etc. I asked him how much money he needed down, he said we would pay when the project was complete. This was very comforting because I was prepared to negotiate a minimal amount of money down as we were burnt in the past, giving a large deposit only to have the contractor bill before the work even started. That same week, all of the roofing material and dumpster were delivered to our house. At first, I wasn’t sure if I liked the color of the shingle. I called Paul, he told me to lay out about twenty of them in a group and see what I thought, he said if I still didn’t like the color he would have them picked up and order a different color. After spreading out the shingles, I was happy with the color. That weekend, his crew showed up to install the shingles, but we had to go out of town. The initial plan was to do a layover, but I received a call a few hours later and he informed me of some issues with the main roof, so we decided to do a full tear-off. We talked it over and decided he would do the garage and three porch roofs that day, then return to do the main roof. Unfortunately, we had three inches of snow or more for the following few weeks. Paul would call each week to get a status update on our weather. As soon as the weather permitted, he returned to do the main roof. He actually came the day before and stayed in a hotel to make sure everything was ready for his crew. They all showed up early in the morning, worked the entire day, and they were still cleaning up debris from the yard in the dark. Impressive considering the roof is 2.5 stories high and extremely steep, in addition to the fact that they had to lug all the shingles from about 75 yards away and carry all of the old roof and debris to a dumpster 75 yards away from the house, with snow still on the ground.Overall, Paul is the best contractor I ever hired. He was punctual, professional, personable, and honest. We actually were charged a very fair price and we are extremely happy with the roof and the experience. His crew is great at what they do, straight lines, straight valleys and straight caps. They worked hard all day long and I didn’t see anyone on a cell phone the entire day. I would highly recommend Paul and his crew. Thank you for a job well done.
