When the time comes for a repair, a full replacement, or any contracting service related to your roof, the choice of contractor is one of the most significant decisions you will make. It requires careful consideration of not only their technical skills but also their professionalism, reliability, and commitment to customer satisfaction. Today, we are providing an in-depth look at "Brian A. Hardie Roofing," located in Iselin, New Jersey, drawing directly from available public information and customer reviews to help local users make informed decisions.
Navigating the home improvement landscape, especially for critical projects like roofing, can be complex. It is essential to conduct thorough due diligence, examining a company's claims against the real-world experiences of their clients. This article aims to offer a factual and unbiased overview of Brian A. Hardie Roofing, covering their stated location, the types of services they typically offer as a roofing contractor, and, most importantly, detailed insights from published customer feedback. Our objective is to empower New Jersey homeowners with a clear understanding of what to expect, ensuring they can protect their homes by choosing a contractor who will genuinely deliver on their promises.
Brian A. Hardie Roofing is located at 33 S Wood Ave #600, Iselin, NJ 08830, USA. Iselin is a community situated in Middlesex County, New Jersey, known for its strong residential base and relatively central location within the state. South Wood Avenue, while perhaps not a major thoroughfare, still offers a tangible physical address.
A local physical address generally suggests that a company is established within the community it serves, potentially offering advantages such as better understanding of local building codes, familiarity with regional climate challenges, and the ability to respond more swiftly to urgent roofing needs. For New Jersey residents, especially those in Iselin and surrounding towns, a local presence might imply greater accessibility and convenience for initial consultations or addressing ongoing project concerns.
Based on publicly available information for Brian A. Hardie Roofing, the company states it provides a range of roofing services for both residential and commercial sectors. Their offerings typically include:
- Asphalt Roof Installation: This is a common service, involving the installation of new asphalt shingle roofs. Asphalt roofs are popular for their cost-effectiveness, diverse design options, and relatively quick installation process. The company mentions offering "quick asphalt roof installation services."
- Metal Roofing Installation: Brian A. Hardie Roofing also specializes in metal roofing, which is known for its durability, fire resistance, and energy efficiency. They highlight "professional metal roofing services" and "quick metal roofing services."
- Metal Roof Repair: Alongside installation, they provide repair services for existing metal roofs.
- Roof Replacement Service: This encompasses the complete removal of an old roof and installation of a new one, whether it's asphalt or metal.
- Asphalt Roof Shingles Repair/Installation: Specific focus on handling damaged asphalt shingles, noting that they are "easily replaced" and "easy to maintain."
- General Roofing Services: A broad category that covers various aspects of roof maintenance, repair, and installation.
- Warranties: They state offering a "35-year manufacturer's warranty" and "50 years warranty against defects," which, if honored, would be a significant feature for homeowners.
They also claim to use "latest equipment," have an "experienced team," offer "cost-effective plans," provide "quality service," and engage in "honest and professional dealings." These claims, however, should be evaluated against actual customer experiences.
Customer reviews are critical for evaluating a contractor’s actual performance and reliability. The provided testimonials for Brian A. Hardie Roofing reveal significant and consistent concerns regarding their service. These highly negative experiences serve as crucial highlights for anyone considering their services:
- Ineffective Communication: A primary complaint is "ineffective communicator" and getting "silence" when asking for status updates. This lack of responsiveness creates significant frustration for homeowners.
- Lack of Accountability: Customers state the contractor is "not accountable" and offers "only excuses" rather than solutions for issues.
- Unstarted or Incomplete Jobs: One major issue reported is a "roofing job that never started after waiting over 3 months." Another customer indicates that only the "roof is done, no trimming done, no boots on vents, ropes left hanging off the house. Equipment left." This demonstrates a failure to complete projects fully or even initiate them in a timely manner.
- Unreturned Deposits: A deeply concerning highlight is "an un-returned deposit for months that we are still chasing." This is a significant financial risk for homeowners.
- Payment Issues with Workers: A particularly alarming feature is that the contractor "has his workers call crying they haven't been paid asking us to pay them." This suggests severe internal management and financial issues that directly impact the client experience.
- Failure to Honor Warranty: Despite advertised warranties (35-year manufacturer, 50-year defect), the reviews imply these are not being honored, with issues persisting and no follow-up for repairs.
- Poor Management: The entire situation is summarized as an "Extreme case of poor management of the job."
- Strong Warnings Against Use: Both customers explicitly advise against using this company with phrases like "Do not use Brian Hardie for any contracting services," "Absolutely do not use this company," and "save yourself a lot of headaches and hire someone else." One customer even says, "It brings me no joy to write this but folks just need to understand what they will be getting themselves into."

Based on the direct and consistent customer reviews provided, it is unequivocally clear that Brian A. Hardie Roofing is not suitable for locals in New Jersey. The experiences described by multiple homeowners reveal severe and systemic issues that contradict every essential quality a reliable roofing contractor should possess.
For New Jersey residents, choosing a roofing contractor is a critical decision that impacts the safety, integrity, and value of their home. A suitable contractor is defined by characteristics such as effective communication, accountability, timely project completion, honoring warranties, fair financial dealings, and professional management. The reviews for Brian A. Hardie Roofing unfortunately highlight a disturbing pattern of exactly the opposite:
- Lack of Communication and Accountability: Customers report being met with "excuses" and "silence" instead of updates or resolutions.
- Project Failures: Jobs either never start after long waits or are left incomplete with materials and equipment abandoned.
- Financial Irregularities: The most alarming aspect is the unreturned deposit and workers reportedly calling customers due to non-payment, which indicates severe mismanagement and potential financial risk to clients.
- Broken Promises: Despite advertising strong warranties, these appear to be unfulfilled when issues arise.
These are not minor inconveniences; they represent fundamental breaches of trust and professional responsibility. Homeowners are actively warned to "Do not use" and "RUN" from this company, advice stemming from extremely negative "worst experience ever" scenarios, even from individuals with extensive experience in hiring contractors.
Therefore, while the company has a physical presence in Iselin, New Jersey, the documented customer experiences indicate that locals seeking reliable, professional, and trustworthy roofing services should look elsewhere to protect their homes and their investments.

Brian A. Hardie Roofing Reviews
The takeaway is simple. Do not use Brian Hardie for any contracting services. He is an ineffective communicator and not accountable. We were flexible and tried to encourage a positive partnership but we only got excuses. Our experience involved a roofing job that never started after waiting over 3 months and an un-returned deposit for months that we are still chasing. It brings me no joy to write this but folks just need to understand what they will be getting themselves into.
Feb 18, 2021 · André DennisAbsolutely do not use this company. Was hopeful that we could have worked out the issues but should have been done Oct 31 2020. Its Dec. now so this is appropriate to share with the public. Worst experience ever with a contractor. We own two homes and we have a lot of experience with hiring people to do home projects. None responsive, has his workers call crying they havent been paid asking us to pay them. Have done work. Metal roof and gutters. Only the roof is done, no trimming done, no boots on vents, ropes left hanging off the house. Equipment left. Ask for status and get silence. Extreme case of poor management of the job. Home advisor said they were good. Not true. save yourself a lot of headaches and hire someone else. Feel bad for their workers
