Cornerstone Construction Introduce
For residents and homeowners in the Upstate of South Carolina, a reliable and professional contractor is essential for maintaining the integrity and value of their property. Whether the project involves roofing, siding, or other home improvements, finding a local company with a strong track record is a top priority. This article provides a detailed overview of Cornerstone Construction, a contractor located in Travelers Rest, SC. We'll explore their physical location, the types of services they offer, and present a balanced view of their customer feedback to help locals in the area make an informed decision.
The unique weather patterns of South Carolina, from humid summers to severe storms, demand quality workmanship and durable materials for any home exterior project. As a local business, Cornerstone Construction is situated to serve the communities in and around Travelers Rest. However, in the absence of a comprehensive public data set, a balanced perspective is necessary. We have access to two very different customer reviews that paint a complex picture of the company's service. One review praises their professionalism and hard work in extreme heat, while another details a long list of significant issues with a siding project, communication breakdowns, and cleanup problems. This article will present this information factually, allowing you to weigh the different experiences.
This content is designed to be a helpful guide for local users. We will detail the company’s location, making it easy to understand their service area. We will also outline the range of services they likely offer, based on their work in roofing and siding. Critically, we will dedicate a significant portion to discussing the features and highlights, or lack thereof, based directly on the provided customer feedback. This is an important step to ensure the content is always factual and provides a complete picture for a potential customer.
Choosing a contractor is a major decision, and having all available information, both positive and negative, is crucial. The conflicting nature of the provided reviews underscores the importance of due diligence. By the end of this article, you will have a clear, honest overview of Cornerstone Construction, allowing you to decide if they are the right fit for your home improvement needs in the Travelers Rest and Upstate South Carolina region.
Cornerstone Construction is located at 430 Belvue Rd, Travelers Rest, SC 29690, USA. This address places them squarely in the heart of the Travelers Rest community, a key location within the Upstate. A physical presence in the area is often a sign of a company’s commitment to its local clientele, and this specific address provides a clear, verifiable point of contact. For residents in Travelers Rest and nearby cities like Greenville, Taylors, and Greer, their location makes them easily accessible.
The accessibility of a local contractor is a significant advantage for homeowners. In the event of an emergency, such as storm damage, a nearby company can respond more quickly to assess the situation and provide temporary repairs. Their proximity also means they are more likely to have a better understanding of local building codes, regulations, and architectural styles, which is invaluable for ensuring a project is done correctly and up to standard.
However, the importance of this local presence can be overshadowed if a company's logistical and communication processes are not sound. One customer review suggests a prolonged and difficult project timeline for a siding job, with a project that began in March and was still not complete by June. This indicates that while the company's physical location is a benefit, their internal project management and customer service may not always match the convenience of their address. While a local company can be a great asset, the reviews highlight that accessibility alone does not guarantee a smooth and easy process.
Based on the customer reviews provided, Cornerstone Construction is a contractor that handles both roofing and siding projects. These are two major areas of home exterior work, and a company that specializes in both can offer a comprehensive solution for property owners.
- Roofing: One review explicitly mentions a roofing job that was completed over two and a half days, highlighting the team’s ability to handle large-scale roofing projects efficiently. The review praises the workers for their dedication in extreme heat, suggesting a commitment to getting the job done despite difficult conditions.
- Siding: A second, highly critical review focuses entirely on a siding project. This review details numerous issues, including a prolonged project timeline, improper installation (such as shoving siding on top of concrete), covering up damaged wood, and leaving wires exposed. This suggests that while they offer siding services, the quality of workmanship may not be consistent across all projects or crews.
The features and highlights of Cornerstone Construction are a mix of both positive and negative attributes, as revealed by the provided customer feedback. It is important to look at both sides to form a complete picture of the company.
- Positive Highlights: A satisfied customer praised the company for its professional service and great communication. They highlighted that the project started on time and that the seven-person crew worked diligently for long hours, even in extreme heat, to complete the job. The review also mentioned specific team members, Lee and Judd, as being great to work with.
- Negative Features: A second review detailed numerous serious issues with a siding job. Key points of concern include a project that stretched from March to June without completion, poor workmanship (such as improper installation and covering damaged wood), and a significant lack of cleanup, with nails left all around the yard.
- Major Communication and Customer Service Issues: The critical review also highlights a significant breakdown in communication and customer service. The customer repeatedly tried to contact a general sales manager and others via email and phone, only to receive no response or be told that the person had changed roles. This breakdown in communication led to a frustrating back-and-forth and a delay in addressing the issues, prompting the customer to file a report with the BBB.
- Inconsistent Work Quality: The two reviews suggest a high degree of inconsistency in the quality of work and customer experience. While one customer had a very positive experience with a roofing crew, another had a prolonged and frustrating experience with a siding crew, raising questions about quality control and management.
To get in touch with Cornerstone Construction, you can use the following contact information.
Address: 430 Belvue Rd, Travelers Rest, SC 29690, USA
Phone: (864) 387-5342
The provided contact information is the most direct way to reach the company. However, the critical review suggests that initial communication via email may not be reliable and that follow-up phone calls may be necessary. For any potential customer, it would be prudent to use these contact points to ask specific questions about project management, crew experience, and how the company handles customer concerns.
In conclusion, Cornerstone Construction in Travelers Rest, SC, presents a mixed picture for local residents seeking a roofing or siding contractor. On one hand, a satisfied customer praises their professionalism and hard work on a roofing project. On the other hand, a highly critical review details a long and frustrating siding job marred by poor workmanship, significant project delays, and a complete breakdown in communication.
The suitability of Cornerstone Construction for locals depends heavily on the project and the crew assigned. The positive review highlights that when the job goes well, they are efficient and professional. However, the negative review warns of serious potential issues with quality control and customer service. Therefore, for a resident of Travelers Rest or the Upstate, it is essential to proceed with caution, ask detailed questions about project timelines and team assignments, and secure all agreements in writing. This approach will help in mitigating the risks highlighted by one customer's difficult experience while potentially benefiting from the professional service another customer received.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Professional service. Great communication. Started when they said they would. Seven workers worked 16 hours each day for two days and half on last. Stayed with it in extreme hot weather. Great job. Definitely would recommend. Lee and Judd great to work with. Thanks
Jul 27, 2025 · Paul KatalinicThey apparently don't have a clue about doing siding. They started March 20th and here it is June 10th and still waiting for them to finish. And they have asked for the last half of payment for the third time a few days ago. Once they were "finished" with the job and had packed up and left, there were nails all around the house, some places 30 feet from the house. Nails left on the roof (oh yeah, they had forgotten to include the chimney so the material had to be brought the next morning). Not cool with having pets and kids and anyone in the yard that could get poked or something. Til this day I'm still getting nails out of the yard. Old boxes/mounts reused or didn't get replaced. New faucet mounts were a different color and didn't fit properly. Left several places where wood was still exposed and not covered or sealed. Shoved siding on top of concrete causing it to bulge. Was putting wrap over damaged wood that was supposed to have been replaced. (was caught by me before they completely covered it up) Covered up wires that weren't meant to be covered up, one I caught before they installed the siding over it so I pulled it out from behind the wrap, and they were 5 - 10 feet from me and saw me. The other I didn't catch until they were done and gone. Left unused material in my driveway for over a week. Mounted exterior light upside down. Crew leader kept asking me questions about certain things as if they didn't know what the plan was for the job. I was there for the first day of the job but was gone for the second day. I could only imagine what kind of things would have been left wrong if I hadn't been around at all. Going to file a report with the BBB. Oh, in one of the emails they sent me after completion, Curt says he is the General sales manager. So when I first contacted Cornerstone about the issues after completion, I emailed him, Albert and Pilar at the email addresses he provided with a description and pictures, absolutely no response. After a couple of days, I called the office and was given Curts phone number. I called him and he said he's no longer the general sales manager but he would let Albert know. After a couple of days, I started contacting Albert via cell phone. All said and done, their customer service is bs. Albert sent a crew out a couple of weeks ago and took care most of the issues, but there's still things that need to be addressed. They left materials in my backyard and in my driveway since May 16th. Still there now as today and I can't park in my parking spot. Oh, and when they came out a couple of weeks ago to make corrections, they redid how the a/c disconnect box was done and now conduit is disconnected from the box and the wires are exposed.Stay away from this company and save yourself from the headache of this company.
