Finding a roofing contractor who not only understands these conditions but also provides reliable and professional service is a top priority for any homeowner. This article will provide an in-depth, factual overview of a local business, PORTLAND ROOF AND GUTTERS CO., to help you learn more about their services and determine if they are a suitable choice for your next roofing project. By examining their location, the services they offer, and public feedback, we aim to give you a clear picture of what you can expect from this company.
PORTLAND ROOF AND GUTTERS CO. is a company that, as its name suggests, specializes in both roofing and gutter services. This dual focus is particularly relevant for Oregon homeowners, as a properly functioning gutter system is critical for a roof's longevity and for preventing water damage to a home's foundation and siding. The company’s presence in the Portland metropolitan area positions it as a local option for a wide range of communities, from the urban core to the surrounding suburbs. Their business model seems to be rooted in offering a combination of roofing expertise and gutter services, which is a convenient pairing for many who are looking to tackle both aspects of their home’s exterior maintenance at once. For any local homeowner, this kind of specialization can be a major benefit.
Navigating the process of selecting a contractor can be challenging, and it's essential to have as much information as possible. Public reviews and feedback, though sometimes mixed, can offer valuable insights into a company’s operational practices, communication, and overall quality of work. We will be using this public information to build a comprehensive, factual overview that can assist you in your decision-making process. The goal is to provide a balanced perspective that acknowledges both the positive aspects of the company's work and the challenges some customers have faced, allowing you to form your own well-rounded opinion.
The location and accessibility of a contractor are often key considerations for local residents. PORTLAND ROOF AND GUTTERS CO. is situated in Beaverton, Oregon, with a business address at 18365 SW Tualatin Valley Hwy, Beaverton, OR 97006, USA. This location is strategically placed along a major thoroughfare, making it easily accessible for customers in Beaverton, Hillsboro, Tigard, and other nearby communities in Washington County. Its proximity to a key route like Tualatin Valley Hwy ensures that the company can efficiently dispatch crews to projects across the western part of the Portland metro area. For locals, a nearby contractor is a significant advantage, as it can lead to faster response times for urgent repairs and more convenient scheduling for routine work. A physical address also gives customers a tangible point of contact, which can foster a greater sense of trust and accountability.
The services offered by PORTLAND ROOF AND GUTTERS CO. are centered around the protection of a home's exterior from the elements. Based on the company's name and customer feedback, their core competencies are in roofing and gutter work. A company that specializes in these areas is often well-equipped to provide comprehensive solutions that ensure a home is properly sealed and protected.
Roofing Installation: The company offers new roof installation and replacement services. This is a significant undertaking for any home, and their focus on this area suggests they are equipped to handle the full process, from tear-off to final installation, for various types of roofing materials common in Oregon.
Gutter Services: As their name indicates, they provide a range of gutter services. This is a crucial offering in Oregon's rainy climate. Services likely include new gutter installation, replacement of old or damaged gutters, and repairs to ensure proper water drainage. A functioning gutter system is essential for preventing water from pooling on the roof or damaging the home's foundation.
Roof and Gutter Repair: For issues like leaks, storm damage, or general wear and tear, the company offers repair services. Timely and effective repairs are vital to prevent minor problems from escalating into major, costly damage. This includes fixing issues with flashing, damaged shingles, and other components of the roofing system.
Professional Consultation and Estimates: Based on public feedback, the company provides initial consultations and estimates for potential work. It appears they use modern methods like satellite measurements to provide preliminary quotes, which can be a convenient way to get an initial price estimate without a lengthy on-site visit.
When evaluating a local business, it's important to look beyond just the services and consider the features and highlights that define their customer experience and professional approach. Public reviews provide a window into these aspects.
Initial Customer Interactions: The company seems to have a professional and friendly team, as noted by customer feedback. An initial positive experience with a representative like Antonio is a highlight for some customers, who appreciate the genuine and professional demeanor.
Commitment to Resolution: While some customers initially experienced communication difficulties, the company's subsequent actions, such as a customer's positive interaction with Edgar, highlight a commitment to resolving issues. This indicates that the company is willing to work with customers to turn a negative experience into a positive one, which is a strong highlight for a service-based business.
High-Quality Work: The customer who eventually had their roof and gutters replaced expressed being "super pleased" with the final result. This suggests that when the company's team completes a project, the quality of the work meets or exceeds customer expectations, which is the ultimate goal of a roofing contractor.
Flexibility and Customer-Centric Approach: The example of the company honoring an expired discount for a customer who had been waiting for service shows a level of flexibility and a desire to make things right. This customer-centric approach can be a significant highlight for locals who value working with a company that is willing to go the extra mile.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I had a disappointing experience with Portland Roof and Gutters and hope I'm an outlier based on other positive reviews. I met with Antonio and he was very friendly and genuine and said he could help fix our leaking roof. However I found it very difficult to follow up with Antonio or anyone at the company and spent almost 2 months trying to get someone out to fix our roof. In the end I gave up trying to schedule the work and went with another company.
Dec 09, 2019 · Scott WrenEDIT: I got in touch with Edgar, and things went very well from there! He kept in touch throughout the process, gave me the discount even though it had expired (while I was waiting for Antonio), and I am super pleased with my new roof and gutters! Highly recommend. :)Very strange experience. I called and made an appointment. Appointment came and went, no one showed up. Called back, was transferred to Antonio. Made a new appointment. Antonio came, was very friendly and professional. Said my roof measurements would be taken by satellite, so didn't do any measurements, just gave a ballpark's figure based on square footage and roof slope. Said he'd done some of my neighbors roofs. Took my email address, said he'd email me an official quote by the following Monday. This was Thursday, May 21st.It's June 17th and I can't get anyone to answer or call me back.I just don't understand.
Jul 25, 2020 · Heather FleischerThis company has been a nightmare to work with. Getting a quote was very simple and we were quite happy with the price. Our project was a small deck roof so they said they could do it in a day in a half and wanted to schedule it for the next week even though we were in no hurry to get it started. We were scheduled for Monday and Tuesday. On Monday someone showed up scraped off all the shingles and left. On Tuesday nobody came so we contacted the company and we were told we were double booked and that someone would come Wednesday, Friday and Saturday to complete the project. Nobody came Wednesday. We contacted the owner on Thursday and he said he would for sure have someone come Friday. On Friday by 11am nobody had come so we started calling the office and finally someone came around noon and worked for the full day. When he left our backyard was a complete mess and unusable. All the old roofing and materials were left behind in large piles. Our yard was then left like this for all day Saturday and Sunday as nobody showed up.On Monday we started calling all the contacts we had for this company unable to get ahold of anyone until 930 am when the receptionist who had no idea about who we were or our project finally got us in contact with the second owner Antonio. Antonio had someone come over on Monday to clean up their mess but there were unable to finish our roof until Wednesday and Thursday of that week.Unfortunately we had to be out of town when they finished project but when we got home we found more trash that had been left behind and the gutter they had promised to seal was still leaking heavily. They also sent us a follow up invoice for $400 more then originally quoted because they had to use more materials. This whole process has been super frustrating and stressful for just a small deck roof that we just wanted to get done at somepoint this summer.
May 01, 2021 · Melissa OrtizBEWARE OF THIS COMPANY: The repair they were hired to do was not properly done, my gutter is still pulling away from the facia and causing further damage to my structure. I hired this company to repair my gutters, and they decided to add cleaning (which I normally do) to inflate the price. To begin with, they never communicated what time they would arrive after scheduling with the office, and once they did arrive they never bothered to let me know they were here, my cameras alerted me and I heard them walking on my roof. I went out to find them using my hose, not their own equipment. They ended up damaging the sprayer when they threw it off of the roof. They also damaged my gutters leaving waffle hammer marks where they missed hitting the gutter nails, they knocked the new paint off the heads of all of the nails. They destroyed one of the downspouts by taking it off the house, this was not requested of them in any way, and nothing was wrong with it. They were supposed to add anchors to prevent the existing gutters from pulling away from the eaves. They were here for 30 minutes before they left, and only came back after I called wondering where they went, and when they did the guy said that they were done. Now I have discovered that they dumped their trash in my cans. I have to buy paint to repair the damage that they did to the gutters, and they were asking $450 for 30 minutes of work that I am going to have to give up a day of repairing. They got half ($225), and that is all that they are getting along with a complaint to the CCB for deceptive practices and property damage.
Feb 27, 2022 · Joanne McKinnonI can’t say enough good things about Portland Roof and Gutters. Antonio spoke with me over the phone, was able to give a rough estimate by using google maps and was there the next day finalizing the contract - very competitive pricing by the way! The high quality work was done swiftly. I could not be more pleased !
