RiverBrook Construction Introduce
For homeowners in Ohio, particularly in the Holland and greater Toledo area, choosing a contractor for significant home improvement projects, including roofing, siding, and window replacements, is a major decision. Our climate demands durable and well-installed exterior components to protect our homes. While many companies aim to provide comprehensive solutions, it's crucial for local residents to be well-informed about a contractor's track record. RiverBrook Construction, located in Holland, OH, has historically offered a range of services designed to enhance and protect homes. However, recent and significant customer feedback, including claims of the company being out of business, necessitates a thorough and transparent overview for potential clients in the Ohio region.
RiverBrook Construction has, according to previous public listings, aimed to provide a variety of home improvement services, positioning themselves as a local option for everything from roofing to major renovations. Public data indicates the company was founded by Ray Cornwell in 1988 and served northern Ohio and parts of Michigan. They were described as a local, family-run company. However, the provided recent customer review presents a concerning picture, detailing significant issues with a siding project, including poor workmanship, incomplete tasks, tool abandonment, and alleged unprofessional conduct from the owner, culminating in the customer stating they found out the company is "out of business." This sharply contrasts with other older, more positive reviews mentioning successful window and patio door installations. For Ohio homeowners, this mixed and very recent negative feedback is critical when considering any potential engagement.
RiverBrook Construction is located at 1154 Clarion Ave, Holland, OH 43528, USA. This address places them centrally within the Holland area, making them geographically accessible to homeowners in Toledo and throughout Northwest Ohio. Historically, a local presence would have allowed them to respond efficiently to service calls and conduct on-site visits for estimates and project management. Their supposed roots in the community would imply a familiarity with local building codes, regional weather patterns, and the specific needs of Ohio homes, which is typically a benefit when choosing a contractor. However, the recent customer claim that the company is "out of business" means that while the address exists, potential clients need to verify current operational status and contact methods.
Based on their historical public listings and prior customer project descriptions, RiverBrook Construction has offered a wide array of home improvement services. It's important to note that the very recent review suggests the company may no longer be operational, or its services may have changed drastically. Historically, their offerings included:
- Roofing: Installation and replacement of various roofing materials, including asphalt shingles, and handling complex roof configurations.
- Siding: Installation and replacement of vinyl siding and traditional stucco siding, aimed at protecting and beautifying home exteriors.
- Window Replacement: Installation of new windows, including vinyl replacement windows.
- Sliding Glass Patio Door Installation: Expertise in fitting and installing patio doors.
- Skylight Installation: Adding skylights to enhance natural light in homes.
- Basement Finishing: Transforming unfinished basements into livable spaces.
- Additions: Constructing home additions to expand living areas.
- Decks: Building and repairing outdoor deck structures.
- Gutters: Installation of seamless metal gutters, gutter covers, and accessories for proper water drainage.
- Insulation: Services related to improving home insulation.
Based on the available customer reviews, both historical and recent, here are the features and highlights of RiverBrook Construction, acknowledging the significant disparity in experiences:
- Historical Versatility: Previous information suggests a broad range of services, from roofing and siding to windows, decks, and remodeling, positioning them as a comprehensive home improvement contractor.
- Positive Past Experiences: Older reviews indicate "fantastic job" with window and patio door installations, describing a "smooth and stress free experience" from quoting to cleanup. Other older reviews praised good cleanup and courteous service for garage roof and back addition.
- Reported Professionalism (Historical): Some past clients found them to be courteous and communicative, keeping them informed about the work being done.
- Detailed Communication (Historical): In positive instances, customers felt well-informed throughout the process.
However, it is absolutely critical to highlight the very recent and severe negative feedback:
- Alleged Poor Workmanship (Siding): A recent customer reported significant issues with siding installation, including bowing, pieces falling off, and installers failing to put a plastic liner around the garage. This required "several different groups" to fix the initial mess.
- Unprofessional Conduct: The owner was described as "rude" and allegedly "hung up" on a customer.
- Tools Left Behind: Installers reportedly left tools all over the yard.
- Incomplete Work/Slow Pace: The siding project was noted for taking a long time ("few hr everyday") and leaving the customer deeply dissatisfied with the outcome.
- Claims of Being Out of Business: The most critical piece of recent feedback is the customer's statement that they "found out....THEY ARE OUT OF BUISNESS!" This directly impacts the ability for future service or warranty claims.
Given the severe recent feedback and the claim that the company is out of business, contacting RiverBrook Construction may be difficult or impossible. However, for historical reference, their publicly listed contact information is:
Address: 1154 Clarion Ave, Holland, OH 43528, USA
Phone: (419) 868-7615
Mobile Phone: +1 419-868-7615
For homeowners in Ohio, particularly in the Holland and Toledo areas, the suitability of RiverBrook Construction is now highly questionable, if not entirely negated, by the very recent customer report stating the company is "out of business." While their historical offerings of comprehensive home improvement services, including roofing, siding, and windows, would have positioned them as a versatile local option, the detailed negative experience concerning siding quality, alleged unprofessionalism, and the critical declaration that they are no longer operational completely changes this assessment. Local users seeking a reliable roofing contractor or any home improvement specialist in Ohio should exercise extreme caution, and likely seek alternative, currently operational and reputable companies. It is imperative to independently verify the current business status of RiverBrook Construction before attempting any contact or considering them for future projects. The reported issues of poor workmanship and unresponsiveness are significant red flags that necessitate a strong recommendation to explore other contractors who can reliably protect your home and investment.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We hired RiverBrook Construction to side our house....a good $30 thousand dollars later, the only thing I am happy with is the gentleman who enlarged our front door, installed a beautiful new door and a new door in our sunroom. The siding...what a nightmare. They work a few hr everyday, left their tools all over our yard and did not put the plastic liner around our garage before the siding went up. Several different groups had to come and fix the mess the installer did. Still the siding is bowing out and in front a top piece just fell off. The owner (Bonnie ?) was rude and with one call, hung up on me. Spring is here and more are bubbling and I found out....THEY ARE OUT OF BUISNESS ! Why couldn't we find these complaints, when we made the decision and hired RiverBrook !!!! So disappointed After continually calling last spring/summer they fixed the front section, that fell off.

Feb 14, 2025 · R RyanAlthough they may be pricey, they did an amazing job fixing up part of the skirting on my mobile home from the damage that my internet provider caused. They were willing to do the work that other contractors did not want to do.The constructor they had come out did a wonderful job, he made It look clean, new and the look makes the home more presentable. I appreciated him being able to help fix the damages and respecting my property. I will definitely be asking for their service again when the time comes to it. Thanks again guys!
Apr 19, 2024 · Alexandra TownsendHad a nightmare of an insurance claim with a roof. Riverbrook helped me handle insurance and made me feel comfortable during the entire process. I cannot say enough good things about the company! From the sales pitch to the office and to the roofers themselves, everyone was professional and completed exceptional work! My roof was a complete tear offCedar shake, multiple other companies told me they wouldn’t even touch it. They not only completed the tear off, but placed an amazing brand new roof! Work was completed in two days. Then once complete they cleaned up very well! They even went as far as to going through the yard a few times with a magnet to get up all the nails. This was VERY important to me! Cannot wait to be a return customer of theirs very soon!
Apr 13, 2023 · Loren RamseyI had this company put a roof on my house in 2010, the lining from the flat part of my roof partially blew back and I called them to come look at it. The woman answers the phone(Bonnie I think), says that "there is probably no warranty left" with attitude. So 8 days later I call them and one of the guys answers to tell me there is no warranty left. I asked him if someone was going to call me or just leave me hanging? Apparently just leave me hanging. Make sure your warranty is longer than 10 years if you're getting a roof! Better yet, I would look elsewhere!
