Badger Contracting LLC Introduce
Badger Contracting LLC operates as a roofing and exterior contractor serving the Wisconsin region from its base in Germantown. For homeowners in the area, a home’s exterior is its primary defense against the challenging climate, from heavy snowfall and ice to severe storms. The process of repairing or replacing a roof, a skylight, or gutters is a significant undertaking that requires careful consideration. When engaging a contractor, homeowners look for expertise, reliability, and a commitment to quality that ensures the job is done right. This article aims to provide an overview of the services and features associated with Badger Contracting LLC, based on publicly available information and customer feedback, to help local users make an informed decision about their home improvement needs. The company's work on roofs, skylights, gutters, soffits, and fascia is a central part of their business, and understanding their approach to these projects is key for any local resident considering their services.
Badger Contracting LLC is located at W188N11782 Maple Rd, Germantown, WI 53022, USA. This location places the company within a community that is part of the greater Milwaukee metropolitan area, allowing them to service a wide range of communities across southeastern Wisconsin. As a local contractor, their proximity to the service area is a factor for residents who value having a business that is readily available to address their needs. The accessibility of a local contractor can be a deciding factor for homeowners, as it can often mean more efficient scheduling and a more hands-on approach to project management. Being situated in Germantown also means the company is familiar with the local building standards and specific environmental factors that affect homes in the area. This local knowledge is an important consideration for residents seeking a contractor who understands the nuances of the region's housing and climate, from the types of roofing materials that perform best to the challenges of proper attic ventilation in a cold climate. The local presence of Badger Contracting LLC is a key element for community members when assessing a potential contractor for their home.
Badger Contracting LLC provides a range of exterior home improvement services, focusing on the critical components that protect a home. Their service offerings, as mentioned in customer feedback, include comprehensive work on roofs and other exterior elements.
Roofing Installation and Replacement: The company undertakes projects for full roof replacement, which is a major part of their business. They work on the installation of new shingles and other roofing components.
Skylight Installation: Badger Contracting LLC also handles the installation of skylights. This involves fitting the skylight into the roof structure and ensuring proper sealing and finishing. One customer review mentioned an issue with the installation of a venting skylight, where an incorrect product was initially installed.
Gutter and Gutter Guard Installation: A part of their exterior work includes the installation of new gutters and gutter guards. This service is intended to manage water flow away from the house and can be a key part of protecting a home's foundation. A customer review noted issues with debris being left in the gutters before the guards were installed, leading to clogs.
Soffit and Fascia Work: The company also performs work on soffits and fascia, which are important for a home's ventilation and overall exterior appearance. A customer review described an installation that was done "haphazardly" and caused a door to scrape.
Home Exterior Projects: The company's scope of work extends to various exterior projects, including siding, which allows homeowners to engage them for a more comprehensive exterior remodel.
Based on customer reviews, several features and highlights of Badger Contracting LLC's work and customer interactions can be identified. These points provide insight into the customer experience with the company's projects and communication.
Project Management and Completion: One review highlighted a project that started in July but was not completed until October, a duration of several months. The customer also mentioned that some products were not replaced as initially agreed upon, leading to a negotiation for a reduced bill to "end the relationship."
Venting Practices: A customer noted a significant issue with the company's roofing practices regarding attic ventilation. According to the review, the company left pod vents in place while also adding a ridge vent, a combination that other contractors later advised should not have been done together. This resulted in excessive moisture, frost, and eventually, rotten decking and mold in the attic just 3.5 years after the roof replacement.
Product Installation and Trimming: A customer review mentioned that an incorrect, non-venting skylight was installed instead of the venting one that was ordered. The company did not finish the trimming on the skylight, and the customer opted to not have the correct one installed to avoid a longer project timeline. This led to a moisture problem later on.
Cleanup and Workmanship: One review detailed issues with the cleanup process, specifically with old tree debris and "giant chunks of roofing materials" being left in gutters before gutter guards were installed. Another review mentioned that the installation of new gutters, soffit, and fascia was done "haphazardly" and caused a functional issue with their front door.
Customer Service and Communication: In the case of the rotted decking and mold, a customer stated they sent an email to the company seeking a response but had not heard anything back. Another customer attempting to get a long-standing issue with a scraping door fixed was told to wait until spring, and their subsequent calls and emails went unanswered. The review also mentioned the company's phone number was no longer valid.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I'm so sick over this situation I could vomit. We had countless issues during the installation of our roof, skylight, and gutters.Wrong skylight installed (was supposed to be one that opens for venting, as it's in the masterbathroom) and never finished trimming it. They would have had to removed sections of the shingles to put in the right one so instead there was no charge. They didn't clean gutters before adding gutter guards causing major clogs we had to snake, filled with not only old tree debris, but giant chunks of roofing materials.Project started in July 2018 and then didn't complete until October. Ended up not having the wrong products be replaced because they couldn't even finish the job. We didn't pay full bill because job wasn't complete, to which they threatened lien action for not paying. Negotiated a reduction of bill so we could end the relationship.Fast forward 3.5 years...the excessive moisture around the skylight is causing drywall deterioration. Instead of disabling the pod vents, they left them and added a ridge venting as well. If I knew then what I know now about roofing, we would have addressed this immediately, but apparently they like to take advantage of customers. They were the "expert professionals" that should have known this was a big no no.The first winter we discovered frost in the attic. Consulted a few contractors that told us to keep an eye on it.This year, mold all over the interior access panel to attic. Opened attic and found horrendously rotten decking. No way it was like this when we had roof done or their contractors would have fallen through. We have since been told by other contractors that the two styles of venting should NEVER have been mixed and the air cannot escape properly causing all the moisture.I have sent an email asking for a response and heard nothing. Our house was built in 1992. The first picture is the decking condition in 2016 when we bought. The next are the photos of the decking, currently, just 3 years after roof replacement and adding vents.Any advice would be greatly appreciated because this is going to be a costly lesson, to do more research and not trust the salesman.
Jan 29, 2022 · LeSlie KorupWe had them do gutters, soffit & fascia for us a few years ago. Install was done haphazardly and whenever we have tried to get help with it, (we legitimately cannot open our front door without it scraping because it was installed too low) we're told that we have to wait until spring. Called the following spring and no answer. Many emails, FB posts, now when I try to call their number isn't valid.
Apr 17, 2025 · Kate LutzBadger was contracted to replace the garage roof on our townhome. While our neighbor dealt with Badger personally, we certainly felt the effects of their marginal service. First, the contract was signed in May, however the work wasn't completed until last week, early August. We were told that our sales rep had been let go and nobody took over the contract (?!). The work was completed this past Sunday, 8/4, however their dumpster is STILL blocking our driveway and preventing access to our garage (on Wednesday, 8/7). No word on when it's being removed yet. The new roof looks great and Badger's crew did an amazing job of cleaning our garage when the work was done. The delay in work and the huge dumpster that's still in front of our house are huge clouds over what was, otherwise, a decent job.
Aug 07, 2019 · Amy GehrkeHad new gutters installed last week by Badger Contracting. They did a great job and I am very pleased with the results. Peter facilitated the whole process and was very responsive, flexible and easy to work with. Communication was excellent throughout the process. These guys are hard working, professional and do quality work.
Apr 27, 2017 · Evan FileI cannot recommend this company! Please take the time to read this before choosing this company! In a short explanation, Badger’s planning and communication after signing the contract is non-existent. Other problems are the metal was cut wrong, didn’t order the correct parts, didn’t order enough parts and the simple logistics of the project were horrible! When I was receiving quotes from companies Badger was very responsive and in constant communication. I decided to use Badger, even though they were the highest bidders, because they had great reviews and I thought they could get the work done in a timely manner. I was wrong, extremely wrong!Once I signed the contract I was lead to believe by the Rep that they would be starting in a couple of weeks. The contract was signed on Sept 16th. But the work didn’t start until Nov 15th. I tried getting updates from Badger but that was difficult. I had to initiate most of the communications and they would hardly respond and when they did the information was incorrect. They told me the metal would be delivered on Nov 3rd (Saturday) so I made plans to be around because they didn’t have an estimated time frame for the delivery. I tried to confirm delivery with them on Nov 2nd but never got a response. On Nov 3rd I texted the Rep and got a response around 11 AM, he had no idea if it would be delivered that day and he wouldn’t know until Monday…?? I attempted to call the Rep that just texted me and he didn’t answer. I call the company and left a voice mail (which they never responded from). The Rep then responded and said that he contacted the Owner of Badger and that the delivery was moved back a week to Nov 10th (next Saturday). The delivery finally happened but only half of it was delivered and they had to come back to deliver the rest. Finally, on Nov 15th the crew showed up to start the job. Everything was going well until I was notified that the metal was cut incorrectly and they didn’t have enough to complete the roof. I had to decide to either send it all back and wait for the new metal to come in or have a seam and get ¾ of the roof done that day. Because of the condition of the roof I needed to get as much done as I could. It took 2 months to get the metal in. I couldn’t wait another 2 months for a re-order. They started putting the metal down, when they went to do the edging and the peak they ordered the wrong edging material and didn’t order enough padding for them to finish the peak. They not only had to order the rest of the metal but they had to order the correct edge metal and more padding to finish the peak. From Nov 15th till Nov 29th I didn’t receive any status or updates from Badger about anything. I received a phone call from the Rep on Nov 29th and he told me the metal would be delivered that day. Somehow the metal that took 2 months before only took 2 weeks this time. The delivery was completed within 2 hours of being notified about it.On Dec 5th I received a text message from the Rep at 7:11 PM that the crew would be out the next morning to finish the work. I notified him that we had recently got 2 dogs and that they needed to notify my wife before starting the work. He acknowledges that but it didn’t happen. That evening at 4:27 PM the Rep texted me that he was coming back for me to sign completion of the job. I responded to him at 5:41 and let him know that I wouldn’t sign because I wasn't able to look the roof because it was dark when I got home. He was disappointed because he would not get paid until I signed. I told him that wanted to inspect the work before I sign completion. It would finally take another week before they would pick up the dumpster. In all, the dumpster sat in my driveway for 30 days. Even after the project was completed I have never been asked how the project went or even contacted by the company other than for the final payment. I don’t think they care about their customers or even the quality of the service or product, they only care about the money.
