Elite Roofing & Waterproofing Introduce
For residents and businesses in Oakland, California, a reliable and well-maintained roof is an essential part of property ownership. The Bay Area's climate, with its diverse weather conditions, requires a roofing system that is both durable and expertly installed. When it comes to finding a roofing contractor, homeowners and property managers often seek a company that is local, professional, and trustworthy. This article provides an overview of Elite Roofing & Waterproofing, a company based in Oakland, to help local users learn more about their services and operations. We will explore their location, the types of work they perform, and what public information, including customer reviews, reveals about their business.
Elite Roofing & Waterproofing is a business with a physical presence in Oakland, CA, aiming to serve the local community with their roofing and waterproofing expertise. Operating from a central location, the company seeks to address the needs of both residential and commercial clients in the Bay Area. While the company's stated purpose is to provide these services, it is important for potential customers to consider all available information when making a decision. Public reviews offer valuable insights into the customer experience, which can be a mix of positive and negative feedback. For example, a customer reported a significant issue with their service: "They completed $12k+ waterproofing of porch. Several months later there is a large bubble formed. For several weeks, I have requested repair and there has been no response." This highlights a potential challenge with post-service communication and issue resolution that potential clients should be aware of.
Another customer provided a detailed account of their experience with the company, raising concerns about project management and communication. The review described a situation where the project manager allegedly made a "demand" for extra payment, which was later withdrawn after the customer provided proof of miscommunication. The review also mentioned a job that was "mostly finished," with uncompleted work, spilled tar, and unaddressed issues after the crew left. It is important for potential clients to take note of these experiences, as they can indicate potential risks. The customer stated, "Avoid this business at all costs," which is a strong warning that reflects their negative experience with the service, communication, and follow-up from the company. These accounts are a key part of the public data available about this business and are important for any local user to consider.
Elite Roofing & Waterproofing is located at 1300 Clay St Suite 600, Oakland, CA 94612, USA. This is a central address within Oakland, which could be a factor for customers seeking a local and accessible contractor. Being situated in a major city like Oakland can provide advantages, such as a local understanding of city-specific building codes and a shorter travel time to job sites in the surrounding area. The location may suggest that the company is well-integrated into the local business community. However, as some reviews suggest, physical location and operational efficiency do not always align. One review mentioned, "Calls to his office go unanswered," which indicates that despite having a physical address, communication may be a challenge for potential and existing clients.
Customers in the Bay Area often prefer to work with a contractor who is physically close, allowing for easier project discussions and timely service. It is always a good practice to verify a company's responsiveness before committing to a project, especially when reviews indicate potential communication difficulties. The location in a large office building could suggest a more established business structure, but the customer experiences provided here raise questions about the day-to-day operations and customer service.
Based on the company name, Elite Roofing & Waterproofing, and the services mentioned in the customer reviews, the company appears to specialize in a few key areas.
Roof Replacement: The detailed customer review mentioned hiring the company to replace a tar-and-gravel roof, indicating this is a service they offer.
Waterproofing: The first review specifically mentions a waterproofing project for a porch, which aligns with the company's name. This suggests they have experience in protecting structures from water damage.
Coordination with Other Contractors: One review mentioned the company coordinating with a solar installation crew, which indicates they are willing to work alongside other professionals on a project.
Based on the public information and customer feedback, there are several factors that potential clients should consider when evaluating Elite Roofing & Waterproofing.
Potential for Communication Issues: Multiple reviews highlight a lack of responsiveness, with calls and texts going unanswered. This is a significant point of concern for project management and customer support.
Project Management Concerns: One review detailed issues with incomplete work, a messy job site, and allegations of dishonest behavior regarding project delays and additional charges.
Dispute Resolution: One customer mentioned that they were left with a defective waterproofing job and no response to repair requests, indicating potential challenges with warranty claims or post-project support. Another mentioned being ignored after bringing up issues with the work and deck damage.
Specialization: The company's name and reviews suggest they have experience in both roofing and waterproofing, which could be a benefit for customers with specific needs in both areas.

While their location in a central Oakland business district might seem convenient, public reviews raise significant concerns about their project management, communication, and overall customer service. The detailed accounts from customers about unresponsive communication, incomplete work, and difficulties with post-project support are critical considerations for anyone seeking a reliable roofing or waterproofing specialist. It is highly recommended that potential clients perform their due diligence, ask for references, and seek multiple bids before engaging with any contractor, and to be particularly cautious when presented with the kind of feedback that has been shared about this business. Elite Roofing & Waterproofing Reviews

Jul 12, 2025 · Ben KnightI almost never leave bad reviews for local businesses, but Alonso brought this on himself. As a project manager, he was sloppy and lazy; as an all-around human being, he was incredibly dishonest and deceitful. We hired Alonso and his crew to replace our tar-and-gravel roof. We went with them in large part due to the good reviews here. In the beginning, Alonso was responsive and pleasant. His crew arrived to the job site on time. Things seemed to be progressing. We were also getting solar installed at the same time, and this required Alonso to coordinate with the solar people. We shared everyone's numbers. Then, midway through the project, Alonso suddenly told us he needed to charge us an extra few thousand dollars because the solar people were dragging their feet and delaying the job. I called the solar people, who told me they'd been calling Alonso's cell every day and he'd never responded. I went back to Alonso, who denied getting any calls. The solar people, in turn, sent me their call logs, which showed that they in fact had been calling him. When presented with this proof, Alonso sort of mumbled, admitted his error, and withdrew his demand. This was, essentially, his form of low-key extortion, but he was too lazy to pull it off. Then the job was "finished"... or rather, his crew left one Friday and never came back. I went up to have a look, and it was clear the job was, at best, only mostly finished. There were large sections where the flat metal flashing did not get installed, and there were parts of the roof not fully covered by gravel, exposing the tar to the direct sun. Moreover, there were splashes of hot tar that had been spilled all over our decks. I realize tar is messy to work with, but I find it strange that no tarps were laid.I took photos and sent them to Alonso. He promised he would pay for the deck cleanup. He sent a guy to install the flashing. But when that guy arrived, he took one look at the rest of the work and said that the workers hadn't properly sealed the edges around the skylights.I brought this to Alonso's attention in November. It is now January. He has been ignoring all of my calls and all of my texts. Calls to his office go unanswered. He hasn't paid us a dollar to repair our decks. I know he's now just ignoring me, because he knows he's screwed up and he's too dishonest of a person to face the consequences. Avoid this business at all costs.
